Flax Seed Oil
Does anyone use Flax Seed Oil? I've read a ton on the benefits of it, but wanted to hear a testimonial or two.
Here's one link that shows a lot of the benefits bulleted: http://ga.essortment.com/whatisflaxsee_pfy.htm

I think it sounds wonderful and when I got to the line:
Eases weight loss in people afflicted with obesity It got me sold on it. I'm gonna do more checking on this.

I've use flax seed oil, but not consistently enought to really be able to give a testimonial. I know that you need to buy the cold pressed and it's easier to take in simple liquid form than in gel tab form. You need at least two tablespoons a day, and that's a lot of pills. If you get a really good quality oil, it does not taste bad and you can take a couple of tablespoons right out of the bottle. If you don't get the good stuff, it can taste bad and has to be mixed or hidden in foods. I don't remember what brand I used that tasted good. What I'm using now is a store brand, HEB's Central Market. It's a good oil, but may not be available where you are.

Great, just when I think I've found something to help be healthier, it gets complicated. How can you tell if it's good quality?

I bought the GNC brand of the oil (cold-pressed) yesterday and it's gross. The guy at GNC said it's not bad tasting, so maybe I didn't shake it up enough. But I decided to start mixing it with a cup of juice and I can't taste it. There are a ton of Flax recipes - you can even purchase the whole flax seeds and use them in baking.

Isn't your hubby a doctor? I wonder if he's heard anything about it? It's been getting a ton of attention lately.

Flax oil is a vegetable oil, but a healthy one with beneficial qualities. If you eat a large order of fries you are probably getting as much oil as if you took 2 Tbsp of flax oil. I wouldn't worry about taking 1 or 2 T.
I wish I could remember the brand of the one that did not have a bad taste. If I find it, I will let everyone know. I got it at Drug Emporium, but they closed the store here.

I have been taking flaxseed oil for about 2 months now. I have noticed some changes. I am starting to loose a little weight and I am also "regular" now.LOL I also have to take heart meds and the 2 seem to work fine together. I also take the oil filled capsules. ALSO..THis is what I take. Also Flaxseed Oil is highly recommended by Dr. Oz !!
I got this from the link that ws given... What do I look for when buying Flax Seed Oil? It's important to buy high-quality flax seed oil as it is prone to rancidity. Light and oxygen will slowly breakdown the essential fatty acids. Look for flax seed oil capsules (dark coated soft gels) or oil that is bottled in amber-brown bottles, as these are more resistant to the light and oxygen. Make sure you refrigerate your flax seed oil to help extend its shelf life.
