It sounds as if you are doing wonderful. Keep up the good work. I have alwys said that half of the battle to lose weight is to get in the right mind set. It sounds as if you are there!

Basically its 3 meals a day, either a shake, a flapjack or chicken soup - (these are all in packets from the pharmacy) and its for people who want to lose weight quick. You cant have anything else besides water, black tea or black coffee, not even chewing gum.

I am currently on the 3rd day of my 2nd week and I have lost 13lb so far.

Your not allowed exercise in the first week of your diet to allow your body to get used to it but now I have started back at the gym and going at least 3 times a week - did a swim on Friday night and aqua aerobics today, break dancing classes on a Monday aswell as doing an agility class with my Yorkie on Fridays and a training class with him on Tuesdays so I am running about enough.

Anyway, just thought I'd let you know what I'm doing....
Hi and welcome to 4wt! It sounds as if you've had great success w/ your diet. I'm glad you found us all here on this site. Please jump in whenever you want.

I started out at 238 and I've lost 3 lbs. I haven't started WW or anything of that yet, just cut out all the sugars and sweet stuff. Also started watching my portions more. Tonight I finally went and bought some groceries and spent over $200. It had been awhile since I bought a lot. Mostly just been picking up what I was out of. Now I have all healthy items in the house. I'm going to try to get on the treadmill this week.

I'm not doing so well. The weather here is yucky!! Raining constantly and temperatures in the 40's. It's so humid, cold and nasty. When will it stop??? Makes you want to go home and stay there. I haven't been to the gym for quite a few days. Have got to get back there.

Y'all keep it up. You are encouraging me to get back with the program.

Don't feel bad Marilyn...everyone goes through a slump, we just have to keep on trying. I've failed soooo many times at losing weight, but I keep on trying. I think I'm doing pretty well, so far.

I can usually lose up to 20 pounds really fast, but it would take a lot more to even show. It's when I hit the period of no weight loss that I get discourage, even though I know my body is just readjusting and changing getting ready for the next round of loss.

I started out at 238 lbs and now at 231. I was down to 230, but I ate two pieces of pizza last night and I shouldn't have. I should have stuck with one. My other problem is staying off the darn scales. I get on every morning and I get so mad at myself for doing this. I've done it for so long, cause even though I'm heavy, I just didn't want to gain anymore so I would watch it daily.

I still haven't gotten on the treadmill yet and I need to. Hopefully I can get my mindset to do the exercise. Wish we had a gym close, it would be so much easier than exercising alone.

Thank you for the encouragement, Janet. I've just got a lot on my mind right now. We are trying to counsel our daughters and they just don't get it. We're having some responsibity issues and they think it's all about money. UHHHH!! My husband says that they just don't listen to the ones who changed their diapers. He's right. Why did they have to grow up???? Things were so much easier when.....

The weather is supposed to be better tomorrow, 20 degrees warmer an sunny. That will help a lot, and perhaps I can get my mindset back on going to the gym and eating better.

I get ya there Marilyn, it was easier when.......

We drew up a contract for my son as far as responibilities here at home and with his driving and what the conseqences were if not followed. We sat and discussed it, told him there was room for compromise, but once signed that was it. He agreed with it and signed it so there was so confusion or "I don't remember that."

It is all signed, by us and him, he has a copy hanging on his bedroom bulletin board and we have a copy with our legal papers.

Sometimes they just need to see everything in black and white for it to make sense to them, otherwise they think we are just nagging. I hope you can make them understand.

Thanks Janet, but in our family if I tried to do something like that they would all roll their eyes, even hubby. I'm glad it works for you. Here, we just have to keep chipping at it.
