I lost more weight!!

Now I know I'm not suppose to weigh myself everyday, but it's like an obsession. I weighed myself this morning and the scale said 230 lbs. That's down from 238 lbs. I know it's mostly water loss and that's okay, just as long as it's coming off.

I haven't started any "official diet" like Weight Watchers or any others yet, I've just started eating healthier, no sweets, no pop, and lots of water. Only thing is, right now I'm starving. I have supper on the stove now and will just eat a normal size portion and no seconds. I'm gonna have to drink a bunch of water right before supper or I'm sure I'll overeat. I don't like feeling so hungry I shake.

Janet,

Have you tried eating smaller portions more often. I know that helps me.
I know your going to say you don't have a weight problem but I feel for you.
I don't like it when i gain weight and I DO>.... Carrots any veggies or fruits.
Like the fruit cups. Those are great to snack on.
Congrats on the lose of weight. Keep up the good work.
I know you can do it.

Thanks Linda! No, I haven't really tried that yet, so maybe I should so I'm not so hungry at the evening meal. Today for breakfast I had a mini whole grain bagel with FF creme cheese. Not much, I spread it on really thin just for taste. I had a few almonds mid morning, then at lunch I ate a turkey sandwich with whole grain wheat bread, a FF cheese stick and a WW cake (they are small). I needed to get rid of my choc. craving and it worked. Then I didn't have anything all afternoon except water. For supper I had a palm size piece of round steak, 1 tablespoon of garlic mashed pototes, some fruit and lima beans. I'll continue drinking water till bedtime.

I hope I'm not cutting out too much too quick for me. I need to lose a bunch as you can tell, so maybe the fruit (although I only like bananas and apples...LOL) will tide me over between meals.

TIP: Fruit is naturally sweet but when it is digested it becomes sugar in the blood stream hence slow weight loss..... try to stay away from fruits and nuts til you get closer to your goal... on the other hand CONGRATS!!! hey 8 lbs is awesome!!!q

I have a question: I know oatmeal is suppose to be really good for you. I don't like regular oatmeal, so I was wondering if like the Quaker Maple Syrup and Brown Sugar Oatmeal would be just as good? I tried some this morning and it was good, but couldn't eat all of it. It comes in small packets. Says on the box all the benefits of oatmeal....does it have to be plain?

I looked at all the Oatmeal trying to decide which to buy, but didn't see the Weight Control, I'll have to look again. I'm not big on the cinnamin, so maybe the banana. Thanks.

Congrats! I know how hard it is to loose weight. You deserve a round of applause. I do not like oatmeal myself. But the girl I work with eats the weight control one. It smells so good. It makes me hungry when she cooks it. I tried it one day, yuck. But remember I do not like any kind of oatmeal. If you like oatmeal, you might want to give it a try.

That's great!!!! Eight pounds is alot! Have you tried picking up 8 lbs of sugar at the grocery store?! Way to go! As soon as I get done with this job I'm going to get more serious about losing weight too. They keep bringing in doughnuts and my will power is very low when it comes to doughnuts. I keep telling my self "NO" but it doesn't always work!

Janet , first I want to say great job I myself have lost about 4lbs. and I have joined a gym and eat healthier. I had posted about the weight control oatmeal that Cindy posted. I like the banana nut. It is great they have all flavors, I mentioned in the other post that my dr. said do not microwave the water, boil it , if not it loses all the nutirents. I try to eat oatmeal every other day, for my total chosterol is a little high and he told me that eating oatmeal helps reduce it. When I eat the oatmeal it does fill me up until lunch and sometime even later. If I can help you with any questions, pm me ..

Yes I saw the thread about boiling the water. I think the oatmeal tastes bad with water, so I've been using 2% milk (on the stove). It does stay with you longer that's for sure, don't feel near as hungry at lunch like I did.
