Snoring
I've been up since 3 o'clock because a puppy got out of the bed and was screaming to get back in. Then hubby won't quit his darn snoring so I can't go back to sleep. Don't bother telling me about the snoring problem ....he knows all about it, but doesn't do anything about....just like everything else. Hopefully this spring we can afford to get another mattress and I can move him in to the spare room. I sleep so much better alone and don't get up so early in the morning angry. As mad as I am at this moment....I think I kept this post under control....don't ya think?........LOL

Awwww yes you did keep this post under control. It is annoying trying to sleep next to a snoring husband. Mine goes thru stages of snoring, when he does, i kick him, or wake him up to remind him he's snoring LOL

Oh I do the same thing. Shove him, tell him to quit snoring, all he says is "oh, okay", rolls over and starts snoring again. It's just time for separate rooms.

My mom bought herself a pair of earplugs, made of silicon. She says they useless, she gave my dad one of those things to stick up hes nose, but thats not working either.
They changed to new pillows, and matrasses, but that didnt help. Now she gets up at night, and goes and sleeps in the guestroom, she wasnt getting much sleep.

I have such a TERRIBLE time sleeping. And, if you add snoring into the equasion my eyes cross w/ anger.
Plus, hubby in his sleep is great at wacking me w/ his elbow right smack into my face or other parts of my body. OMG - it HURTS!!! Many times If I haven't fallen asleep w/ in 3 hours of tossing and turning I head to the spare bedroom. I've been "learning" how to mediate and that has helped somewhat make me fall asleep. I've also been totally over taking sleeping aids from over the counter. I'm just waiting to make a doc appt. so I can get a prescribed sleeping aid. This way I wont overdose on the over the counter stuff. I've been tripleing the amount so far. But there are times when I get so exhausted from not sleeping well I become desperate and don't think rationally. So so bad I know. My ex hubby had sleep amnnea (sp) horribly bad. What is it with men and their bodily functions while sleeping? UGH! Sleep is soooo precious to me and I crave it. When it's disturbed I'm not always a happy camper.

Janet .. I hear you, my hubby woke me up this morning at 5 with his snoring, I usually do what Angie does kick and tell him to shup up lol He says I am not snoring. I did get back to sleep until 7 though. I get cranky when I don't get a full night of sleep. I myself sometimes go through periods where I can't fall asleep, esp. when I am stressed. Sheryl why don't you try some over the counter benaydrl that has the same ingred. as some over the counter sleep aids. Ask your pharmacist. If you get prescrption pills be careful you are young and don't want to become addicted to them. Janet I hope you go to bed early tonight and catch some zzzs..

My hubby snores too and if he's got a cold or something, he actually SNORTS in his sleep. It's then that I end up on the couch. I know he can't help it, but that doesn't mean I have to lay there and listen to him!

We spend some of our Sunday afternoons relaxing in the living room watching movies and it never fails that my husband stretches out in his recliner and starts snoring. The girls and I get pretty upset over it because he's pretty loud and trying to get him to move to the bedroom is almost impossible. He never realizes that he's snoring!!!! It's very annoying!!
I know that he snores at night (I do to probably) but I sleep pretty soundly so it doesn't bother me. My husband has started smacking when he eats or chews gum. Now if you want to talk about something that is annoying........

Sorry you all are going through it too, but I'm glad I'm not the only one. I can't really go to another room unless it's the couch. I'm always afraid I won't wake up in time for the bus route. I suppose I could go buy another alarm clock, but I just didn't want an alarm clock in my family room. Like I said, soon as we can get another mattress (we have the bed frame) then he's getting another room. I'll bring my computer and dogs into my room.

I saw a report on TV earlier this week that there is a trend to having a split master bedroom plan with a wall dividing two bedroom spaces with separate beds. With both husband and wife working and often having different schedules, couples are finding that they can stay close to each other and yet far enough apart that they get a more restful sleep. I can see doing that. Having like a sitting area just off the master with another bed in there, with one master suite entrance door from a main hallway. Sounds like that design would work well for many of the folks here. It would be much more cozy and private than two actual separate bedrooms. I have a design program on this computer and could show you what I mean if I had Acrobat Distiller installed so I could print it to a pdf file, but don't have Distiller on here.
By the way, I bought some awesome earplugs at Walgreens that block the noise. My hubby likes to sleep with the TV at full blast.
