Had lasik surgery on Monday

I had lasik surgery on my right eye on Monday. I had it about 8 years ago, but the vision in my reading eye (I got one eye done for reading and one for distance) got to the point where I needed glasses. I found the most gorgeous pair, but decided to ask my doctor if I was a good candidate for a lasik redo in that eye.

He's a great doctor, and I'm hoping to not need glasses at all. My vision is already better, but not good enough yet to take off the cheap drugstore glasses. He only took out the "bandaid contact" for me yesterday.

I'm really nervous about this. I hope it worked! I also can't believe I had the nerve to spend so much money.

Wish me luck please,

Judy

I think that you're very brave to have the eye surgery done. I would love to be able to see good enough to not need my contacts or glasses. I'm having trouble with the near and far vision too. I went to the eye doctor yesterday and we're going to check into contacts with bifocals. I have to get some eye allergies cleared up first. I'll say a prayer that everything is well with your eye and that it will heal quickly. Keep us posted on how things are going. Who knows, maybe I'll get inspired to have mine done too.

I hope all is well. I've only ever heard fantastic things about the lasik procedure.

Me too!

I'm actually hoping to have the surgery as soon as possible. Hope everything is going well for you.

If you do decide, I'll be glad to ask my doctor for someone excellent in your area.
My doc is really good. The surgery doesn't hurt at all. Ir's over before you sit down.

I've heard from so many people that they have just LOVED having the surgery and that they never regretted it, but I'm still scared to death. lol. I know it's all in my head...I will eventually do it, I'll just have to tell myself over and over that I'll be so much happier when it's all over with.

Angie, maybe you want to go speak to a few different doctors, and find out which one you are most comfortable with

I agree with Mandy Angie. One of the doctors John (my hubby) works with is one of the first who did lasik & one of the best in the state. Try talking to him for one.

It'w one week since the surgery and my vision is much better, but reading is still a little difficult without glasses. I'll call the doctor this week and ask him if it's styill going to improve, or this is it. Last time I had it, it took about 3 or 4 days, but I was much younger.

I hope I don't need glasses, only because it was expensive and I wanted the outcome to be that I don't need reading glasses.

For those of you who are afraid, I certainly don't blame you - it looks terrible, but I wish I could send you an ESP message of how not a big deal it is at all. And
they give you a valium! Medication is a wonderful thing (I'm from the 60's).
