Frustrated

This was a very difficult week for me personally. Although things overall at home and work went well, I found myself in a deep deep funk - questioning absolutely everything in my life. My husband took me to dinner Thursday night; he sat and chatted and I sat and felt sorry for myself. So today, I told him our next dinner out is my treat and I need to suck it in and get out of my funk.

dustiey, it happens to all of us. Mine has been going on now for the last 10 years!!! LOL Really, I'm going to do what the ladies here have suggested and as soon as school lets out, I'm going to take some time for me. Maybe you should try this too. I'll tell you one thing, it has me looking so foward to it. I'm going to go even if I have to put it on charge.

Is there anything specific that's got you in this funk?

You hit it on the nail, the older we get we do get into our moods. I am sure its just a passing thing.. Get involved in something that you like that will help you get through it..

Janet is right! Take some time for yourself. Everyone gets into a funk. Do you know what's causing the 'funk'? Are you upset about something inparticular? Sit down and think about what exactly is making you feel upset...sometimes we run around in a funk, but when we can pin point the problem, or where the feelings are coming from, it can aleviate some of the feelings. Is it your husband, work, over load of house work, friends, children......

Sorry to blab...I wish you the best in feeling better soon!

Oh I hate it when I get into those 'ponder life' funks. When it happens I feel like I could have done so much more and now that time is gone. It usually only lasts a short time and then I'm back to my normal goofball self.

I do hope you're feeling better about things this morning. Been thinking about you.

I agree that we all have things that contribute to our funk. Most of the time we simply deal with it, but sometimes stuff can just overwhelm us. The things that get to me are the things I don't feel I can change in the immediate future and am tired of dealing with on the surface. Unfortunately I think that's real common.

While we might not have any solutions for you, I think we all can relate to some degree.

HUGS

I'm sorry that you feel that way Dustiey. I get into that kind of "funk" sometimes as well. Try to stay positive and we are here if you need to vent.

Hope you are feeling better. It's horrible to be in one of those moods. I didn't really know what it was like until recently. About a month ago, I got down and didn't know how to get out of it. It kinda passed on it's own. Hope yours does too, and soon. My hubby was very supportive and tried to help. Hope yours has a helpful and understanding attitude.

There has been some glimmer of hope - I just need to stay in the positive. Thanks for the words of encouragement.

I used to keep a journal and write down every single thing that was bothering me. Some were silly and some were huge, but it just felt better getting it out there and allowing myself to acknowledge my own needs. I'm not big on trying to distract myself from feeling funked out. I'm the type who does better if I let myself feel what I feel. It goes away faster.

I doubt if that works for everyone, but it's just a thought.
