We're in bad weather today too. Blowing snow and slick roads. I ran to town about the time that it started to get my groceries for Christmas and the weather had gotten worse by the time I came home. I have 4-wheel drive so I wasn't too worried about the roads but I started to slow down before I came to a stop sign and when I pushed on the brakes I started fishtailing!!! I went right through the stop sign but there's not much traffic on the road so it wasn't something to be REAL concerned about. Then we cross a low water bridge to get to and from town and today it has a little bit of water going across it and I slid down the road and into the water but I didn't have any trouble going up the other side. It's VERY slick so I think that I'm staying home!!!!

Diana, I'm so glad you made it home safely.
Janet, it seems to be headed your way next, so get ready hon. LOL

If it's at all bad we'll just stay home.
No way I'm risking my life just to open gifts on a certain day. We can reschedule and all stay safe.

We, like Diana, went to town to stock up and will sit it out if it's anything like forecast.

Guess I'm going to have to check the weather. I haven't had the TV on so I don't know what it is suppose to do here. I really had no idea Kansas had so much winter weather. I thought it was warmer for some reason...duh!! You be careful Diana and you too Tink. Now I'm off to check the weather for my area.

Here in Kansas our weather can be pretty severe. We probably have weather a lot like you. I know that to go just a couple hundred miles south makes a big difference. Like the difference between Sheryl's house and mine. They have spring about 2 weeks earlier than we do and I know that Kansas City has spring a week or two after we do. Our temperatures range in the summer from about 70* to 110* and in the winter I've seen it get to -10* in the day time but that's VERY rare. Usually we're around freezing with some days better and some worse. Our snow probably doesn't stay on the ground as long as yours does. Our humidity is really bad here. It makes the cold seem colder and the hot hotter. I know that when I used to go snow skiing I didn't mind the cold because their humidity was very low.

It's been really bad out today. We've had rain, sleet, and about 4-5 inches of snow and most of it's blowing. When I drove home from town you could tell that it was blowing pretty bad and later on it got worse. Hopefully it will be gone by Christmas so people traveling won't have any problems but then on Christmas night we're suppose to have something else come in. Glad that we don't have to travel any where!!!!

Diana, I had no idea it got that cold or hot in Kansas. Today I woke up to very high winds and just a little drizzle. Here in Indiana the winters suck as far as I'm concerned..lol. We have snow, but not all the time, it just seems to stay on the roads a long time, because it stays so cold. Yesterday it was 48 degrees, this morning 30. I wouldn't mind the cold so much if we just didn't have the snow and ice. Now in the summer, we usually don't get into the 100's, it just seems like it sometimes. The humidity is usually pretty high.

I would like to go somewhere where there is no snow or ice, no humidity in the summer..lol.. and a nice light breeze. Temp no lower than 40 and no higher than 80. So if someone knows where this place is...please let me know, okay?

Oh wow... it's been snowing and snowing and snowing... I haven't stuck my nose outside, but Greg says we have about a foot of new snow.
It's hard to tell exactly how much snow we've had 'cause of the wind which is just whipping it around.

My puppy buyer who had planned to drive a couple hundred miles to pick out a pup this morning has rescheduled. I will be surprised if the roads are cleared for us to go to my brothers tonight... so we'll most likely have to reschedule that as well.

Oh well, we're safe at home, stocked up and none of this is so vital that it can't wait.

Keep safe Diana!
Janet, I hope they're right and the snow misses you.

The snow finished coming yesterday evening and today it's warmed up and is melting the snow and ice off of the roads. Of course, there's still icy patches and my husband had to smart off on everyone of them coming home from church! He just tries to get me to yell at him!!!! Of course, Jaci is in the back seat laughing at the both of us!!! The yard is still covered and will probably be for awhile but that's no big deal as long as the roads are cleared.

I think that my son's family is coming over to sled in the meadow so I have to have hot cocoa ready!!!

Janet, I've heard that New Zealand has really nice temperatures. Not too hot and not too cold!
