If you could have 24 hours.....

with a loved one that has passed on, who would it be?

Me, I'd pick my dad. My dad was a minister who died way too young - 49 years young to be exact. He died from a terminal illness 11 months before I married. He never got to meet the man who was to be my husband, he didn't get to walk me down the aisle on my wedding day, nor did he get to perform the marriage ceremony as he had done for my sisters. I would want him to meet his grandsons, who only know about him through my memories! My oldest son reminds me so much of my dad - in looks, personality, likes, dislikes....he's a big fan of wrestling and when my dad was alive, we didn't dare touch the tv on Saturdays or Monday nights cause he was watching wrestling!! I like to think TJ's love of wrestling is my dad's way of saying he's still with me. And he'd love Taylor's spunk and personality, another of my dad's qualities! Of course, 24 hours would never be enough but if I were granted that one wish, that's who I'd pick.

Those are such beautiful words you told us about your Dad.

I would pick my Grandma, she was the most precious lady in the world to me.

I never thought I could miss someone as much as I do her. But...I am so thrilled to know that someday when it's my time to go, I will see her again in heaven.

That's what got me through my dad's death - knowing that someday, I WOULD see him again! Your grandma sounds like she was one special lady.

I would pick my grandfather...my dad's dad. I never got a chance to meet him. He passed away shortly before my dad and mom married. But my dad tells me about him all the time and I really wish I could meet him. He sounds like an amazing man.

I would want to see my Dad. He passed doing what he loved...with fishing pole in his hand. He and Mom were on vacation and he had a heart attack. I was 18 years old and totally devastated. I was Daddy's girl. I still have his flannel shirt that he always wore around the campfire when we camped when I was younger. He could play the harmonica and make me laugh like know one else. He was everything to me. I guess that's why I am not afraid to die...I will be in his arms once again.

Girls your tributes are all so touching and beautiful, I have three very special people that have passed, My Mom she was my best friend and life is not the same without her, my dad though I was not very close to him, I realize today that he was a good father just couldnt show his love. Lastly one of my older brothers who passed away when he was 36, him and I are so much alike in many ways , I am sorry that he never got to enjoy his children who have grown up to be responsible young adults.

I don't know how I could choose just one.

I adored my Dad, who died of a heart attack 15 years ago. He was a teddy bear of a man and something of a local celebrity for his musical skills. We were very close.

I am still emotionally devastated by the loss of a 19 yr old who had lived with us and was like one of my own kids. He died just over a year ago playing chicken with a train on a 4-wheeler. He was SO full of life and love that it's hard to adjust to the "lack" of him in our lives.

My nephew Chris died at age 10 when his 8 yr old sister pointed a pistol at his head and said "Byebye Chris!". I held his hand in ER when they unhooked him from life suport and have never fully recovered. I would love to hold his hand again and apologize for not having kidnapped him that day. He was supposed to have gone somewhere with us and at the last minute his parents decided he had to stay home. If only we had known...

So I can't shoose just one. It's impossible.

I'd spend it with my Grandmother. She was an amazing person. I just wish that I could have spent more time with her.

If I could pick another, it would be my sister. She died of cancer, 3 days before her 40th birthday in 1980. She was 11 years older than I and we were just beginning to know each other as adults. She had such a hard life after she was married. He wasn't abusive, just lazy, drank 24 beers a day, just a no good low life. She could have done so much better.....

I'd have to say my mom. I never got the chance to ask her about some things.
When I did get the chance she couldn't remember.

I would want to spend most of the time with my mom who die 3 years ago I was very sick and just got out of the mental hostipal she called me to tell me she had called 911 and I know they stayed down there to long but I just couldn't get up to go down to her house that's right in front of mine,My sister in law called and said she was dead I was so sick so much guilt.

My cousin who was like my sister that was a year old than I was on life support she had been trying to call me for a week. After they unhook life support she lived 5 days and then she was gone. They said she kill herself with meds. I wish I could talk to my mom and cousin one more time. I know I will see my mom but not so sure about my cousin. My cousin died april 26th of this year. May God Rest their souls.

I would want to spend it with my dad, we were very close...I was his baby girl, he passed away 2 years ago and it seems like yesterday, like it was a bad dream I am waiting to wake up from. I keep him close to me , besides being in my heart, his pictures are all over my living room, and on my desktop...he is the first thing i see when i wake up , and the last I see before I go to sleep.
Some days are still very hard for me, some nights I cry myself to sleep thinking about him. I miss him so much, but I know one day I will be with him again, and I know until then he is always with me.

i would choose my grandmother, she was my best friend in the whole wide
world and now im in tears, i really am..she was 86 when she passed and i miss
her terribly....when i used to call her, everyday she would scream out MY GINA
is on the phone, mean while she had 16 other grandchildren, i was her favorite.
so if i could just see her just one more time and hold her hand and tell her i love her and miss her.. well thats what i would want
