More Pictures from Me--Flood

We had a flood on June 13 but I was too busy to get any pictures on. It was nothing close to being like last year but still it was a lot of water!!

1. Here's the stop sign on our road. The trees behind it are on the river. If you turn to the left and back to the right there's a low water bridge but obviously it isn't passable during this time.

2. Here's a view of the water from a high point near our house.

3. Here's one of my husband's fields.

4 Here's another view of the same field but if you look closely you can see a deer in the water.

1. Kera, Daya, and I waded in some water that was crossing the road.

2. Here we are at another place where the water was crossing the road.

3. Kera found a snail floating in the water and Daya thought that they should share it.

1. This is a washed out spot on a road near our house. It actually washed out a little bit more after another rain that we had.

2. This is my brother-in-law's pickup (he's driving) with his son and daugher and her children. They had been playing on the jet-ski right before we got there. They're a very nice family!

3. This is my son's mailbox! It sits at the end of his driveway!

4. This is my son's yard. Last year the water was in his house 4-10 inches. It lacked about 2 feet of getting in.

1. This is my son, Feyn. For some reason I didn't get pictures that looked good of his family.

2. This is the jet-ski in the field. They actually skied behind the jet-ski in this field!! I think that this is Glen and Jaci (you have to look closely). She had to go to the chiropractor because of falling off this time! She's all better now!!

3. & 4. This is my husband goofing off!

To get to Feyn's house I had to ride the jet-ski over and back and my husband took me for a ride while I was on. I didn't ride a lot because the water was too cold for me. I need really warm water to swim so I wait until July!!!!

I love it when you share pictures of your family and the area you live. I'm glad the flood waters were not as bad, but wow, I bet your son was getting a little nervous. It really looks like you guys have so much fun, no matter what is happening.

My daughter-in-law is the one who was nervous. I know exactly how she felt too because when we lived in our old house we had water right up to the foundation!

We had rain last night and it's still raining so my husband isn't going to be too happy. Also the weather is saying flooding again, but it shouldn't be near like what the pictures show.

We try to make the best of what we can, even if it means that the water comes to you because you don't have time to go to the lake!!! Might as well enjoy it!!!

Natural disasters are tragic, and can be heartbreaking but we have to also acknowledge how beautiful and mysterious they are as well. We are so very small and fragile when things are put in prospective.

The family is wonderful. The girls are so cute!
