My Bank Got Hit Twice Now !!!

I was running around after work yesterday and went thru the driver thru to get Micah a happy meal, and my debit card said that i was not authorized.. so i called the bank today and this is the second time they got hit with identity theft, the recession is getting worse around my area, with bank cards, cc.. people are out there to steel your money big time.. now i can only use my debit card with my pin number and i can't go above 300 a day... boy i'm glad i went grocery shopping for the month.. that would have been embarrassing, getting 400 worth of groceries and being denied at check out.... when is it going to end!!!!!

At least your bank is trying to keep you safe Haley....that's a good thing even if it may be convenient.

They really should have let you and the other customers know what was going on. It could be very embarassing for some if there card was refused.

Your bank should have sent out a letter before they decided to started using the new procedure. Some people could have been in a real bind.

Sometimes business' have to act fast and apologize later. Sounds like they are trying to protect their customers. Your sister may check with the bank. The limit for commercial accounts may be greater than for personal.

i'm sure she called the bank, i don't see why she couldn't write a check at Sam's too?
I know they had to act fast, but this is the second time within months... they better change some things in this bank before people go elsewhere... i'm worried about my credit cards now...

I was checking to see if a certain check cleared my credit union and found this flashing message:

Important Debit Card Fraud Alert Notice

Because of recent debit card fraud activity, we are placing a 60-day freeze on all debit card signature transactions that originate in Georgia and Michigan. In these two states, you will only be able to use your debit card for transactions requiring a PIN.

Please be assured that we are working with the proper authorities to identify everyone involved. Meanwhile, if you are experiencing any unauthorized activities on your account, please contact us at xxx-xxx-xxxx.

Times are getting hard and we will see much more of this!

It's so sad that it's coming to this and I'm afraid that we're going to see more and more of it as people become desperate. Too bad.

Haley, I have to say I agree!! We're all sick of hearing about multi-million dollar bonus's. No one is worth that kind of money. It's insane, and to think these people are sooooo arragant that they actually think they deserve this type of compensation. Who do they think they are, and more scarey, who do they think we are?? Do they think we are just slaves to fulfill their greed or what??? Something has to change. I sure hope someone in charge knows the answer and will actually do something about it!!!

God, it's okay if you chime in here now.....

We all need to turn to God in a time like this, the stimulas package is a "joke", there just going to blow that money too, i say the hell with the banks and let them fall, look at what Well's Fargo just did, they just got busted to, expensive vacations, spa packages, bonuses. and another bank had box seats to the super bowl. while we the "working class" are suffering to make it! wondering if we have a job to go to tomorrow. or where are next pay is coming from..
I'm sorry i wish i never had Micah right now..

Sometimes Haley....I've thought the same thing. I don't want Ricky to suffer....but...what if they or their generation can make things better? I honestly don't think it will happen..I believe things are winding down for us, but....what if?????
