!!!!shark!!!!!

OK!!! now that I got your attention!! LOL...Good morning Ladies!!! haven't been here in a while...been hanging with the yorkie people...

Have any of you tried the shark? it's a steam cleaner for hard floors...I saw one at sears the other day and was wondering how they worked...It sounds good but, do they work? I think I might buy one,,.I think it was 80.00 so, not real expensive but if it doesnt' work then it's not worth it.

Thank you girls and have a wonderful day...going to look at a used x-pen for the girls this morning...will make camping so my easier!

I've seen them, too, and wonder how they work and if the water reservior is large enough to get the job done without constantly refilling.

Anyone out there used one??

I've never used on or even seen one in person. I have a Hoover carpet shampooer that I use. It's not too hard to get out and use quickly. One thing I wish that it had was somethng to warm up the water. You put hot water in it but if you're not using it it gets cold. Otherwise I really like it. It runs around $150 on sale.

This isn't a carpet shampooer Diana....it's a steam cleaner for hardwood and linoleum floors. It's like $80.00 at Wal-Mart. Sears has them too for the same price. I have a carpet steamer but, thanks to the furbutts, I no long have carpets!! They thought is was a HUGE pee pad and no matter what I did I couldn't keep them from using the carpets...I was CONSTANTLY steaming them..ended up throwing all of them out! The little buggers!! LOL..I like the hardwood better anyway...

If anyone out there has used the floor steamer I would certainly like to hear how you liked it!

Hi there! It seems like several yorkie owners have done like you and I, ripped out the carpet! LOL!!

I have hardwood and stained concrete floors - but I've never used the shark. I just use a swiffer max to get up the dirt, then I use some wood floor cleaner that is recommended by the company that made my hardwood floors. I squirt it on the swiffer pad and run it over the wood. It makes them look pretty! But my wood floor is oak, and it has many different colors and wood grains, so nothing shows and I have never had to fuss with them like some others I know with wood.

Good luck, I bet someone on the Off Topic discussions on YT will have some experience.

Hey Gayle!!! seems like just about everyone to talk to that has yorkies doesn't have carpets!! lol...

this is actually a steam cleaner that cleans the floor. I usually use a mop with mr. clean...it's just a pain to keep putting the mop in the bucket...wringing it out...mopping the floor...again...and again...and again! This just looks so much easier and it's supposed to get deep down, ground in dirt! I kinda sound like a commercial don't I? LOL

I was going to post on YT but the posts get pushed out so fast ....that's why I post here...

I have the H20 steam cleaner - same thing, different name. It is good, but I can't use it on my laminate floors. They show streaks (they are going to be replaced asap!!!) Anyway, I can't really say how the steam cleaners work in the long run.
It gives out a nice amount of steam, and doesn't drip water. I guess if steam cleans like they say, it is good. It's lightweight, and easy to go around the floor with. The fact that it needs to be plugged in is annoying. It also doesn't get the dust, etc. up, so it would be a two step process.

I would think you would have to vacuum first. How does it do cleaning the floors? I don't want to buy one if it doesn't work well. Although if I keep my receipt I'm sure I can return it.

I have a confession to make - I rarely mop any of my floors - I have a housekeeper who does it. I sometimes have to in between her visits though. I just HATE housework and because I work and am very busy with many other things outside of work, looong ago, I hired a housekeeper and it makes my life soooo much easier!

I don't blame you, Gayle. If I worked I'd have someone clean my house too. To be completely honest, I'd love to have a housekeeper too!!! It would be so nice to have a nice clean home and not have to do the work to get it that way!!!!

I have it!!

And... I love it!!! I got mine at QVC. It was $62.00, I think $67.00 with shipping. It also came with I think, 6 pads. The ones in the stores come with 2 pads. The pads alone are $20.00 for two. So QVC is a great deal.
It doesn't hold a lot of water, but I have never had a problem. It works well for me. Even if you do need to add more water, no biggie.
It really does clean well. I think you will like it.

Don't feel "sheepish" Gayle. I would love to have a housekeeper. That's right up there with having the money to pay her....LOLOL

I don't have hardwood floors, but I would love to. Maybe someday. You'd think with 5 Yorkies, I'd have them already huh?

Are the pads washable? I am going to buy it. I don't mind having to fill it with water. I think it will be so much better and easier than a mop and bucket

Thanks everyone for the input!
