family illnesses

I haven't really been on for long lately. I've been trying to read posts, but have had lots on my mind.

My second cousin was diagnosed with terminal cancer last year. She began chemo, but after a few months declined further treatment. She has cancer in every organ of her body and it has begun to destroy her brain. She's bedridden now and has been talking with her father who's been dead almost 30 years now. It's really taking a toll on my mother. She's been trying to help out with Dorothy (the cousin) and I can see every day that it's bringing back the memories of when Mama's sister died 2 years ago.

Another cousin died yesterday and the funeral is tomorrow. I just can't make myself go to the service. I called his wife today and she understood completely because of the death of my husband last year.

Also, a friend of the family who's been a second mother to me and my sisters is at Emory University Hosp. tonight with her husband who has aneurisms in different parts of his body. He underwent surgery today and my mother is with her tonight for moral support.

I'm worried about my mother because I believe she's wearing herself out. She's 71 and has a heart condition. It's now almost 11:00 and she's still at the hospital.

Please remember Mama in your prayers.

Kim
