Food for thought
I had someone at work today tell me something that's really got me thinking. I'd like to know what you all think about it.
This person is a banker married to a police officer; she claims that the reason the immigration department isn't doing more to stop illegal immigrants from staying in the US and working here is because the gov gets a huge amount of money from letting them stay. According to her and her hubby, by allowing illegals to work here, the gov is able to keep all the money that's collected and sent in for their taxes, soc sec, etc since the illegals obviously don't file taxes or get to collect social security benefits when they retire. While some citizens might protest, I have to admit the gov doesn't seem particularly concerned about removing illegals. What's your thinking on this?
