Did you know??

Did you know that for the past 5 years, most copy machines have a digital hard drive that retains a copy of everything copied on the machine? I read this today and checked it out. It is true. Any personal data, drivers license, social security card, personel data, medical records, legal documents, tax forms anything that has been copied on a copy machine has been recorded. What happens to this data when the machine is removed from service? What if the machine is sold on E-Bay or somewhere when it goes off lease but still has some life left in it? Sharp is the only manufacturer currently addressing this issue. They are starting to offer encrypted hard drives & features to delete items from the internal hard drive.

Makes you want to think again before going to Kinko's to copy something personal doesn't it?
