We have fire ants down here, and they are attracted to electric motors, like in your refrigerator or freezer. They also like, I know, this is gross, dirty clothes. If you spilled food on a top, they will eat the food and the place on the top where it was. Nasty creatures. We us Amdro ant bait outside where their nests are to get rid of them.
Some ants are looking for something as simple as a drink of water. Good luck controlling them. I hate bugs in the house, but in warm climates, they are always sneeking around.
