Gracie Leigh
Gracie Leigh came home last Tuesday. Would you believe I haven't had time to get them for some really good pix! I'm not complaining, but they are keeping me busy.
I love it! She is the most adorable little girl, loving and cuddly and as spunky as they come! She's about 3 pounds and about 15 weeks old. We've been to the vet and she checked out fine, give or take ear mites and a puppy skin thing. She got her second shots - her third is in a couple of weeks, then rabies at about 4-5 months. I'll have her spayed asap and, God willing, we're done with the vet for a while. Max was not happy at first. He hid, pooped on the couch exactly where I sit and was completely confused. Then he decided in the middle of the day a few days ago to investigate this noisy little alien creature who was in his house and being hugged by his Mommy. They fought for dominance for a while (and still are), but nobody's being aggressive. She's not in the least bit afraid of him, steals his toys, his food, and wiggles her tiny butt right in his face. He won't grab a toy back from her, but waits until he can get it, unless they're playing. He hasn't growled at her, although she does! A few days ago, they began to play tug of war with a toy, and have gradually begun to chase each other. She follows him everywhere, they eat from each other's bowls, still fight, haven't cuddled yet...and so it goes. Max has always been confined with a baby gate in the bathroom when I go out. He did get out once, but was scared and never did it again. Not any more! Little miss cries when she's confined. She goes into her ex-pen when I go out. The first time I went out, I found him hanging around the bathroom looking scared. I wasn't made at him so that was that. I figured she was crying and he got out to do whatever? I left them yesterday for about 3 hours and when I came home, he was out again. I figured that he's not about to be in the bathroom when she's in the living room. I have no idea if he's being protective or what, but I guess Max will be out when I go out from now on. I can confine him quite a bit just by closing doors. Right now, they're both napping, which is nice! She's got dome idea of where to pee, but it will take work. She's certainly not peeing all over the house, but thinks the tablecloth under her ex-pen is just fine. Poop is always more difficult. It's really hard to call her a bad girl when she looks like a little doll. I'm so delighted that we got her and, jealousy aside, I'd say Max is too. Anyway, here are some pix for now. I'll get better ones soon. 1. Dinner time 2. Max waiting for Mommy food 3. Max looking cute 4. Gracie Leigh being "convinced" to pose
