Smile Who have you learned the most from??

I was going to post this under the bulbs thread but I thought this would be a nice topic.

My husband's grandmother could plant a pencil and grow a tree!! I learned sooooo much from her. I use to get small plants from the store and stick them in some dirt and that was about it.

We lived next door to his granny for about 6 years before she past away. She was 85 when she died. I learned so much from her. I learned how NOT to hold wood when splitting it !! LOL When she was younger she chopped off her thumb while spillting wood!My daughter thought this was the funniest thing. When she was just a little thing she use to sit on her lap and she would look all over for her thumb. Granny loved every minute of it. I also learned how to crochet and I have been working on my blanket for 2 years!! . I had no clue how to crochet before I met her. I also learned a lot about nature. Now I can identify a ton of different birds, flowers, and trees. I know this doesn't sound like a lot to some but to me it meant the world. Altho I didn't know it at the time. She had lived a very rough life and to have been able to still manage to find the good in everything. It was really amazing. Like I said what little I did learn from her I can pass on to my daughter. She was an amazing woman that I still miss dearly.

SO who has made an impact in your life??
