Getting there
I got to unpack my pictures this week. I leaned them against the walls in the rooms I'm thinking of hanging them in so I can decide.
I also unpacked quite a few cartons in the den. I have (I think) all of my books in the bookcase. I have 2 shelves of novels, 2 shelves of science fiction and 1 shelf of assorted things, like the still wrapped comic book when Superman was killed off, a book about baseball cards, one about the history of Brooklyn, etc. That's a fun shelf. When I get to it, I'll organize the books by author. (OCD anyone?). My books make me very, very happy. They are like old friends. I ordered a new gizmo to clean the floors with. It's called a Gloss Boss and has a polishing/buffing function. Hopefully, that will buff off the water streaks. Now I have to find the boxes in the pantry that need to be unpacked, and get to them. I think there might be one or two in the basement too. The pantry needs to be set up the way I like it, some stuff has to go into the garage, including my tires that have been in my trunk for about a month! I forgot all about them. After that, I have to organize my papers, a couple of cabinets and that should do it. It's really not that much work and I'm so happy. Once I'm done, I can relax in my new home. I still need to buy some things, and I will get to that slowly. I definitely need window treatments. I cannot believe the prices of pleated window shades! I have 10 windows to do and I'm not spending $100 for each shade! Some of the windows will also get drapes, but they don't have to cost that much. I love sheers and will probably get them for the bedroom. Any ideas?
