So, what did you do?
What did everyone end up doing for Labor Day weekend?
Ours was pretty quiet. I had a cousin in town and although she didn't stay with me, I saw her for a couple of hours on Sat/Sun/Mon. It was nice! Then a friend called and asked me to ride out to her cousin's house - about an hour out of town. Her cousin is an old friend of mine, we went to graduate school together back in the early 90's. We've stayed in touch and we see each other occasionally, but not too often. She and her hubby retired a couple years ago and built a new home in the country. I hadn't been out there yet, so it was delightful to get to see her and her new digs! I watched lots of college football - of course! I was also keeping track of the University of Texas' volleyball team playing a tournament in Hawaii. The University of Hawaii has a great volleyball program and Texas was very lucky to beat them and win the tournament! My granddaughter spent the night last night. She doesn't do that too often anymore since she is so busy with volleyball and her friends. We went shopping today and had fun together. I bought Gary a new computer and my son-in-law hooked it up to the new 32 inch TV that we bought for our travel trailer. It is so cool! Gary's eyesight is not very good, so sil made the TV the computer monitor. Gary still has to sit pretty close to it, but he can see it really well. I had a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse - so he can sit in the rocker and operate the computer through the TV. We have to get a table big enough to hold the keyboard and mouse, but not too big to sit in front of the chair. Since Gary is home all day by himself, he thought that being able to play games on the computer or surf the net would be fun. He has never really done anything on the computer, so it will be interesting to see if he gets in to it. My sil has remote access to it from his computer at home, work or by iphone so if Gary gets "stuck" sil can get him "unstuck". This evening we went to my daughter's for beans, cornbread, and fried potatoes. MMMMM! The new puppy (the funny looking flat faced Brussels Griffon) is doing really well, she's playing more and feeling more comfortable with everything. When we got home, Gary and I put up our tomato cages. I have two fall tomatoes that are doing really well and growing a lot. My other two plants are not doing well at all. I'm thinking they just don't like the hot weather - maybe they will grow when it gets a bit cooler. It's supposed to be in the low 90's this week, so we are making progress! I guess that's about it. I need to get off this darned computer and get the house picked up! But I don't want to. BaaaWhaaa!!! (that means "poor me").
