Out of whack
Scott came back last week from 3 weeks in the middle of nowhere... he was supposed to get 2 weeks off before flying back up (he is switched out with another girl), since he works 7 days a week while he's there. Well, that didn't quite happen. Since we got word from the main office to start laying people off, we now have too much work and not enough workers. So Scott now has been assigned to another job where he has to be on site by 5:30 in the morning, every morning This job ends next Monday, and he'll have just one day off before flying out again Wednesday But at least this job is in town, and even though it's an early start, he gets to go home as soon as the work for the day is done (around 3:30 yesterday, and he's hoping around noon today)
But this has really put us out of whack with each other! First of all, I hate to admit this, but I felt weird when he came back from up north. It was kind of like I had just gotten used to having all the time to myself, because we barely even had time to talk, and all of a sudden we're just supposed to be back to how everything was. But that feeling went away quickly and I'm glad he's home Now that he's getting up so early in the morning, I wake up when he's getting up and it's hard to fall back asleep so I'm groggy all day. He's groggy all day. By the time we eat, take Layla for a walk, and try to watch our nightly episode of the Tudors (he got all the seasons and we're both hooked!), he's already falling asleep on the couch. He goes straight to bed, and I try to spend some time with Layla and wind myself down for bedtime. We don't talk and laugh and fall asleep together anymore, and I miss it! I kind of feel like my time with him is being cut short before he leaves again, and there's nothing I can do about it and I feel like a toddler who wants to throw a tantrum! I want my time!
