Got Plans?
BIL, SIL, nephew + wife & 2 kiddos (3y & 1y) are driving to MIL's today, from Panama City, FL. We'll drive over on Sunday, for the day. We've never met the kiddos, haven't seen nephew in over 3 years, and NIL in 8 years.
Sunday is Delaney's 11th birthday. She's having a slumber party (9 girls) at our house tomorrow night. I made her a "birthday tree" last weekend and she's crazy about it. I have two of the little fake pine trees (4' and 5') that I keep out year-round and change the decorations for different holidays, but most of the time have ornament pictures of the g-kids on them. We decorated it up and are pinning money and gifts on her tree. There are already a few wrapped gifts under the tree. I haven't talked about the daughter's wedding last month because she disappointed us at the end. I haven't talked to Roxann since the wedding and Harold only talked to her once for a couple minutes. MIL, not knowing about the ongoing dispute, called to invite her to come over on Sunday. Now, the other kids say they're not going if she's going and Harold and I aren't sure how we should treat her. Long story short, most of her friends got drunk at the wedding and one of the guys grabbed Baylor (5yo), cussing at him for spilling soap bubbles on him, as the newly weds were leaving. Needless to say, Paula & Kenneth, Laura & Jonathan, and Gary (Kenneth's dad) told the guy to leave and lots of words were said with a little pushing. Why are we upset with Roxann? She sided with her drunk friends, saying that Paula's kids ruined her wedding and that nobody had the right to tell her friends to leave her wedding. Harold and I grabbed the g-kids and left. Roxann and Paula were pushing each other and doing lots of screaming. Harold sent Roxann an email, while she was on her honeymoon, telling her that we weren't talking to her until she apologizes to Paula and Kenneth and that she had other apologies to make. She called Harold once to argue that she didn't feel she owes anybody an apology, but he stood his ground. I'm rambling!
