Please don't laugh at me :P
The Box
In my hands I hold a Box Neatly packaged Tightly wrapped Securing, defending, Protecting its contents from unwelcome intruders. And then you came And I let you see my Box So plain, so simple Utterly uninviting. But curiosity and compassion Fueled your desire To unveil its contents. With great difficulty You untied the tangled bow. My heart beat faster But you continued on. Gently but with strong determination You tore away the dull paper. You were shocked to see A metal lock box Yet another obstacle in your way But you wouldn't give up. I could see the determination In your soft eyes. I knew you understood As I felt tears upon my cheeks. I waited quietly As you tried Combination after combination Without success; Yet you kept trying. It seemed an eternity passed Before the lock clicked open. I had never felt Such intense fear In all of my life. Carefully you removed the thorns The nails and the needles; My last line of defense. My secrets were before you, Would you run away now? I scanned your eyes For any clues to what You were feeling But all I could see In the tide of blue Was your deep and unending Love.
