Tattoo Removal Consultation

The surgen was very confident in the fact that that tattoo is removable, she however, could not give me any idea on how many sessions it would take. She said I should plan for more & then i'll be happy when it takes less. She said most can be removed in 6-10; she thinks mine might be on the 6 side because there is already some fading just from wear. It will be a little more per session then I was expected, but not unreasonable. My first session is Jan. 30th. The website says I can get one every month, but the surgeon stated that it will depend on my rate of healing. I will have a follow up with her 2 weeks after my first treatment. She gave me a brochure from the company that supplies the laser to them & they have a picture of a black flower like mine that was hardly visible after only 2 treatments, so here's hoping. It sounds like I might be wearing a bandaid on my big toe all summer, 1. so no one sees the tattoo & 2. because the treatments make the skin sensative to sunlight. I might have to actually tell my mom about it because she might get suspision when I wear a bandaid for 6 months straight.

I realized this morning that it wasn't my mom that's bothering me about the tattoo, true disappointing her makes me feel aweful, but the real reason I want it gone is because I plan to start trying to have a baby soon & I don't want to embarrass my kids with such an obvious tattoo. This may sound weird, but i live in a very conservative community & I already have all this emotion surrounding just the idea of having a baby & wanting that child to think highly of me.

While at my consultation I asked about removing my shoulder one, just in case. She said it would be much harder because of the greens in it. That's not as big of a deal because my every day wear covers it with no problem & I'm sure as i get older I can even find bathing suits that cover it, since it right on my bra strap line & very small.

Thank you all for being supportive. I'm still feeling some nerves from this whole ordeal, but I think they will start to wear off. Again the surgeon was very confident that it could be removed.
