Homemade scent?

around thanksgiving i start a simmer pot of smell good on my stove. i use 1 cup of water 1 orange one lemon several cinnamon sticks and 1 tbsp. of cloves...i also put this on top of my fireplace when i have a fire going and it really smells the house up...every time somebody comes over they just go on and on about how good my house smells....and i have three dogs and two cats in the house all the time!!!i also add whatever other spices that catch my fancy...sometimes i add pumpkin pie spice or vanilla....just whatever i think would smell good in there.

These all sound very interesting and I will definitly try them. When you say "on top of my fireplace", where do you mean. I would like to try this, but don't know where to put it.
