I hope you are feeling better from the swine flu. How long have you been recuperating? My daughter and my grandchildren had it about 3 weeks ago. They were very sick for a few days, and now it is gone. The children have been sick on and off since with other things, since they are in school and are constantly being exposed to other germs.

I am happily retired, living in the country in upstate NY for the past year and 1/2, and loving it. I am establishing a life for myself up here. I am going to meet the man of my dreams soon, I have decided! I am also putting my house together. I would like to finish up with getting everything organized here. I write, do pottery, found a Women's Network, and am meeting people and making friends.
I am originally from Brooklyn, which I do not miss. My daughter, SIL and 3 grandchildren live about 20 minutes away from me, which is just wonderful.
Thank you for the welcome, i will try to get some pictures organised, i was diagnosed with swine flu, a week ago, and have gradually felt better, but it has now developed into a chest infection - so on antibiotcs, hopefully should be able to go back to work soon.

Wow...... you sound like you are having a very busy time, with everything, i have been reading about your house move, and the renovating etc. It sounds really nice, and it is a lovely feeling when you can sit back and see everything all nice and organised - mind you something usually crops up, no peace for long in my house Ha ha.

Hi Diane!
It's so nice to meet you! I'm 58 and a nurse from Texas. I teach nursing at a University here. I have two precious Yorkies, Rex & Rowdy! I have one daughter and 2 wonderful granddaughters who live only 10 minutes from me - I"m really lucky! I spend a lot of time taking care of my husband of 27 years, as he has many chronic illnesses and is retired.

We are so happy to have you here! Welcome and please post often!

Thanks for the welcome, i am really looking forward to getting to know you all, i am feeling much better now, still coughing a little bit, i will be returning to work soon - thankfully, just making sure i am properly well first.

Scotland is a wonderful place, we are going there for our holidays next year, touring the highlands - looking forward to it, and can take my doggy (Harvey), i really only go places i can take him - unless it is unavoidable.

Diane, so glad that you found us!!! Welcome. I'd not seen your post until today. We've been rather busy planning a late December wedding. You may have seen the thread.

I'm 55, can't believe I actually put in it writing, married 36 years to my best friend. We have two daughters and one sil, soon to have another. I work full time so am not on here as much as some of the other ladies, but try to keep up as much as possible.

This is a wonderful site. Some of us have been on here since day one, and have gotten to know each other quite well. The ladies on here are the best ever!!!!

Looking forward to getting to know you and share your life adventures!!!
