I am waiting for my dishwasher,
which was supposed to be here between 1:00 and 5:00, there is a mouse that keeps getting into one of my kitchen drawers, which is empty except for a mouse trap, I had to empty out my basement because my papers down there got moldy, and Annie had a tick in her fur. Oh..and I really have to get off of my butt and finish putting this house together. There really is not that much more to do!
So....I will just wait for the dishwasher. The dishwasher guy will come tomorrow and set it up, I put some more peanut butter in the mouse trap, and will look at the directions again. Maybe the mouse doesn't like PB, or maybe prefers some jelly with it. Jessie came over and helped me empty the basement on Sunday. She took several nice pieces of furniture home, and a lot of the papers I was saving. They were things like her high school and college stuff, a lot of really great music, etc. I kept her elementary school stuff. I front lined the dogs, and when I bathe them in the next couple of days, I'll be able to really check them over for ticks. The mouse - you never know - sometimes you just have to surrender! He can have the darn drawer, if he promises not to go anywhere else!

We had a mouse too, but he is now in mouse heaven. I do like seeing "where" they've been. Doesn't it just drive you crazy when they give you such a big timeframe for them to show up....and they are still late? Guess there isn't much one can do about it, but it sure is annoying.

So did you get your new dishwasher put in? And did you catch the mouse? I just hate having mice. Thank goodness that's something that I've never had much trouble with. Glen always kept the holes plugged even when we lived in a really old house plus we kept poison in the attic and under the house.
That's too bad that you got water in your basement. Is that anything that you can fix? Nothing's worse than losing papers you wanted to save.

I cleaned out the "mouse drawer." When I opened it to see if the mouse was trapped yet, there was more poop! I added some more kinds of food, but nothing yet.
The dishwasher is almost finished. John, the plumber/electrician, has to replace a pipe with a flexible pipe. He will finish Monday. I have to wash my dishes in the bathroom sink, because there's a pipe that will (and did) leak if I use the kitchen sink. It's a really nice dishwasher! Lots of options. I think I can even sanitize if I want. Maybe I'll put the "mouse drawer" in the dishwasher Nope, Diana, there is nothing to do about the basement mold. I was told to put a dehumidifier in, but I don't think so. This house has been standing here since 1984, and there hasn't been a mold invasion yet. I emptied it of anything that can mold. I got to throw out more junk too! I figured that if I wrote on the cartons "Don't Open," I really don't need anything in them. My old tax papers were in one of those cartons. If I get audited now, I can blame it on the mold I spent a lot of time in the den yesterday, and I'm going to finish it up now. The kitchen is done (except for 1 cabinet), the basement is done, the living room is 98% done, the downstairs bathroom needs 2 hooks on the door, my upstairs bathroom is done, and my room needs the dresser drawers organized. YAHOO!!!

You're doing good girl!!! Wow...I'd love to see it sometime. Also...just make sure the mold isn't a bad one for you to breath. Maybe a dehumidifier would work after all. I don't think they are real expensive either. Just don't want you to get sick from breathing anything dangerous.

I guess I should look into it, Janet. The mold was green, not black. I just think it is damp down there, especially from all of the rain we had, and the papers got moldy. I'll google "mold."
The den is taking me longer than I thought. I am putting my on the shelves of my triple cabinet in there. I have tons of pix, and it takes time to arrange them. I also have to take down some of Mackenzie's pix, and put more up of Brandon and Kassidy. I didn't see them for 3 years, and have to catch up on framing their pictures. I also want to hang up family pictures in the den. That's what I had in my old apartment, and I loved walking into the den and being surrounded by family! I have to leave it for a few days. I need to come back to it refreshed. A job that seems huge, sometimes shrinks to a very manageable size if you detach from it for a bit.

I do the same thing Judy. If I leave it for awhile I'll come back ready to get it done...or it will sit till I am ready.

Is your dishwasher instillation finished Judy?
How is your little furry friend lol Don't love all the little distractions that keep us busy? I was on my way to the bathroom, but I had to reroute my trip and grab some tp. Before I knew it, I was vacuuming the stairs, refreshing all the water bowls, changing the kitty litter and I forgot what my original mission had been! |

Becky, I do that all the time. I start in one room and end up somewhere else with several things that I'm trying to get done......so nothing gets done. I think some of my meds are causing some of this. It's fustrating!!!

Next, I'm going to go pick out the laminate floors. I will ask my SIL to do the work because I think it is best to keep the peace, and because he does such beautiful work.
