When it comes to our children, a second opinion is always a good idea. Is this his pediatrician he's been with his whole life? If so, maybe it's time to let him go see your family Dr. I'm getting ready to change my 15 year old son too. Not because anything is wrong, but because his Dr. deals mainly with smaller children.
I would get a 2nd opinion before he is put on medication. I am on Thyroid medicine and I was told once you're on it, you're on it most likely for life.
