Plane crash in Austin
A man got made at his wife, set fire to their house, got his plane and flew it into a building near a freeway in Austin. It's only about 2 miles from our house, but we are all OK - traffic will be a bear though along that road today. Fortunately, I don't have to travel that direction!
I think he was REALLY mad at his wife - OH MY!!!

OMG!! He must be crazy!! Was anyone killed or hurt? That's just terrible!
I'm glad that you guys are okay Gayle. Lucky for you, you don't have to drive that way today. |

I saw that on our news at noon today Gayle. Said two people were taken to the hospital. Were there more? Any killed in this tragedy?
You know...if they are wanting to die so badly, why don't they just do themselves in instead of killing or hurting others! Wonder what their argument was about to make him do such a thing.

Turns out he had a tirade against the government and the IRS. He has a "suicide" note posted on the internet. I read it, but it doesn't say why he had to die and create such destruction - I guess with a sick mind you never know.
The building housed IRS offices, but wasn't the main IRS facility which is in south Austin. Ironically, Gary worked at the main IRS building and had spent quite a bit of time in the building that was hit today. It's kinda creepy to think he could have been there - but of course, he hasn't worked for the past 6 years. I can't believe that no one was killed, but so far, all they have said is that one person is missing and two were injured. It's a weird day here, for sure!

I don't get why people have the mentality of "if I'm going to commit suicide then I'm going to take others with me". I hate that the world is becoming like that. Whay do they feel that they have to take innocent poeple with them and destroy their lives or the lives of their families? It really makes me upset. I think that showing these actions on the news or internet causes more people to copy-cat these kinds of actions.
Gayle, I'm so glad that you're alright. It sounds like it was wayyyyy to close. I have another FB friend that mentioned that it was near where she works. It's too bad that anyone else had to lose their life.

I didn't know it was so close to your house Gayle! Thank God you are okay.
I agree with you Diana. It seems to be the way it is too often now, to take other peoples' lives when somebody commits suicide. Suicide is so selfish, and to take others along is just unbelievable!
