Pink eye

Ugh. My eyes are so gross. Last weekend I had my work Christmas party on Saturday night, and I woke up Sunday morning (okay, Sunday afternoon) with very very bloodshot eyes. I just thought, maybe it was the wine, or maybe I didn't sleep well on the futon (we had the furniture out of our bedroom to put down laminate).
In the middle of the week one eye seemed to clear up a bit but one was still pretty red. I thought maybe it's just an allergy or sinus infection causing it since I've been feeling pretty stuffed up. I bought eye drops on the weekend and they seemed to help but only for a few hours.
This morning I got up and you couldn't even see ANY white in my eyes, it was all red. So I finally went to the doctor and after a couple of minutes he knew it was pink eye
I got eye drops and I'm still considered contagious for 24 hours after starting them so I thought it would be best that I don't go to work until tomorrow afternoon.
I'm glad I didn't touch or hold Scott's baby nephew on the weekend! And hopefully I haven't given it to anyone else!

Poor kid! That is painful! I hope it clears up quickly. I remember from the kids that it usually is gone in a couple of days.

HOPE YA FEEL BETTER!!!

That's too bad, Lindsey. Make sure that if you wear contacts that you take them out and put in a new pair after you're over this. Get better soon!!!! Hugs!!

Thanks! I am wearing my glasses for now because it's painful to take out my contacts. I think my one eye was pretty much cleared up, but I did clean both contacts on the same hand before putting them away a few days ago, and I had them both in yesterday when both eyes got worse again so I think I spread it from one eye to the other I will be throwing those ones out and starting new ones when this clears up. I wonder if my contact case is okay, or if I need to throw that out too.

I think that you could probably wash it with really diluted bleach. Make sure that you rinse it really good and let it dry good too. I think that it would be alright then.

How you doing Lindsey? I wouldn't take any chances with the pink eye. Also change your pillow cases...anything that can possibly contaminate your eyes. Hope it's all gone by Christmas.

Oh Lindsay, I'm so sorry you have pinkeye! THat is just the pits. I hope it gets better soon! Everyone is right, I would throw out the contact case - but Diana is probalby right you could clean it with diluted clorox. Wash everything else, pillowcases, towels, wash clothes in HOT water. Do this frequently or you will keep reinfecting yourself

I am back at work today I actually took the whole day off yesterday even though I would have been up for coming back to work in the afternoon. Scott took the day off work though, and we got laminate down in our extra bedroom and picked up our new kitchen cabinets with the help of my brother and his friend. Thank goodness for sick days lol
Tonight I'll throw my sheets and towels in the wash. Scott's eyes looked a little bloodshot yesterday but I'm hoping he just didn't sleep well! I forgot to look this morning. His mom called and was really concerned because she's worried his baby nephew might have gotten it this weekend. But I didn't hold him or touch him or touch any of his stuff so I'm sure he'll be fine. From what I read, the symptoms come on quickly, so anyone who might have gotten it should be showing symptoms by now.
My eyes aren't nearly as bloodshot anymore. They water a bit throughout the day but not nearly as bad since I started the eye drops!
