strange phone call this morning
I'm in the middle of painting in the kitchen this morning and the phone rang, i ignorned it earlier so thought i better answer it this time in case it was a sheriff call for hubby to work.
It was a woman and she said she was calling for her friend who was looking for her biological mother, well my first thought was they have the wrong number, no biggy, then she goes on to tell me the name of the mother she is looking for....it was my mom's name....i was stunned and didn't know how to answer her, i didn't want to give out any info but she knew my hubby's name by doing a reverse look up of the phone number, not many people know hubby's first name because he goes by his middle name. Still not wanting to give any info, she started giving me info, my mom correct age, she lived in Calif at the time, well my dads job moved them to Calif for 1 yr in 1973/74, I didn't go with them because I had gotten pregnant with my 1st daughter and married ....now i'm getting worried, she told me the age of the person looking was 40 something, well that would be older than my daughter and i definantly do not remember my mom being pregnant before that, mom and dad did not even sleep together for many years LOL. Then she tells me the madien name of the woman she was looking for" whew" it was not the same as my moms thank goodness. I knew it could not have been my mom, she would not keep something like that from me all of these years, but it was kind of wierd the way she was giving me all of this info and it was so close to my moms past. She had two people with the same name, my mom and another so i kindly told her that she had the wrong number here, i never told her weather it was me or my mom she was asking about, just didn't want to give any info out, but she really had me going there for a few minutes. I have to say i have always wanted a sister, I have 3 brothers. Just a very wierd phone call although i hope the person finds her mother. PS, I think i will call the bank tomorrow and make sure they keep an eye on moms account, you just never know now a days.

Now that is strange! I'm not sure how I would have handled it. I guess I would have gotten as much info from her as I could without telling her much.....like you obviously did. I didn't know Keith was his middle name did I? Now I want to know his first name!!!

Weird!
You did handle it very well Lynne! If it was true, I hope she finds her mother. If it was a scam, calling your bank was a very good idea!

Wow!! That was a strange phone call!!!
My Dad ran around on my Mom a lot when they were married so I've always figured that, who knows, some day that could happen to me!!! Hey....I'm your sister!!.....I'm not sure how I'd handle that one as much as I'd love to have a sister!!!!! I have some cousins that knew they had several half siblings from their father with several women (He was a wierd man!!) and one of my aunts ran into one of their half sisters. The girl knew about them but they had no clue about her. It's been 2 or 3 years now and they still haven't met. A very strange situation!! Also, on the day that Feyn was born there were 2 other boys born and one was given up for adoption. A family member of the other boy who was born that day called once wanting to know what I remembered of the girl who gave up her baby because he found a post on the internet for that day in our hospital. Sadly, I didn't know the girl and didn't remember any thing that was any help. I don't know if that boy ever found his mother or not. |
