What a night!!!!!

The weather people had been saying that the weather was suppose to be bad on Tuesday so I was keeping an eye on the weather reports. Four o'clock was given as the time to be watching so I worked out in the yard and was checking every so often to see what was developing. The humidity was awful which is always a sign that the weather could be bad. Sure enough about 4:00 you could see the storms developing in Ok and I found a live feed on the internet that had storm chasers following a storm in Ok and hitting small towns. The track of the storm looked like it could be heading right over us so we called Dae Lynn and had Daya call about coming over.

Actually, we were suppose to have a kid's church last night but it was canceled because of the weather. Trust me....there's nothing worse than a chuch full of kids and really bad weather!!! We left the weather channel on all evening and they were focusing on the storms so they were keeping us well informed of what was going on. At one point our tv gave a warning and let us know that we were in a tornado watch and it was from the storms that were causing all the tornados but the rotation was dying out and we were fine. My granddaughter, Daya, was amazed that we didn't just rush down to the basement!! But the the southern part of our county is what was in danger.....not us.

We had some rain and a little thunder but things were really pretty mild compared to what we were expecting!!! The weather people are saying that this could go on for a few weeks!!! UGH!!! We must be in some special weather pattern like El Nino or La Nina.

Feyn, Tammy, and the kids were in Dallas!!!! LOL.....Where I figured they were safe and I wouldn't have to worry about them........NOT!!! They were taken to the basement of the hotel where they were staying because of tornados there!!! One struck a mile from where they were at!!!

We had Dae Lynn, Dean, and Karlie spend the night and Daya and Kera ended up staying too!!!

Just to let you know......we DO have a basement and in the basement is a storm shelter that's built underneath our garage so it has concrete on every side. Our builders called it our "fraidy hole"!!!

Thank you so much for your concern and your prayers!!!

So glad you and your family are safe. Today....we are going through the same thing. So humid last night and this morning and it brought the storms. Lots of lightning and thunder with tornado watches and warnings all over Indiana. At the time I had to go pick up the kids our county was under a tornado warning. The school announced to all bus drivers that as soon as we got to school we were to come in and go to the safe areas. Well....everyone knows I want to be where the action is so I went to the west of the school to see what was happening, it wasn't looking good at all. As soon as all the lightning stops I'll try to post pictures.

When I finally went inside they wanted us in a hallway filled with people.....sorry....I tried but just couldn't stay there. I went and sat in the lobby. I've never seen so many adults in a panic. Im always afraid they'll cause more harm by not keeping their heads. I just stay away from them.

Sorry, Janet. I do know what you're feeling right now. With all of the tornados and warnings it's hard not to be worried about it. However, when adults are with children then the panic needs to be contained because it can make the children worry and develop fear any time there's a storm. Panicky adults need to be removed from where the children are!!!

I hope you soon are clear from all of the storms. I know that for us that was when we were finally able to relax. Keep safe!!!!

Yes it has calmed down...finally. There is alot of damage here in Indiana. On my way to school this morning I picked one student up and then had to turn around because there was a tree across the road.

Just down the road....a house had a huge tree break and branches were everywhere including on top of the house. Lots of branches are down all over. Said today was going to be rain, but the storms would resume because of the temps and pressures. Monday and Tuesday we are suppose to hit 90 degrees.

This weather has been so bad for so many people.

Glen said that we don't have any rain in the forecast for a week to ten days. I'm glad. The bad weather really stresses me because we live in the country. We're too far away to hear the sirens in town.....however, we will have friends and family call us if we're in danger. Jaci is good about calling us or we'll call the kids and make sure they know to keep an eye on the weather. If it's really bad we'll have Dae Lynn come over and stay because she lives in a double wide home. Amy and Jason do too but they live really close to us if the weather should get bad. Jaci and Nate and Feyn and Tammy have either basements or a cellar to go into.

We've had such nice cool weather that I'm going to miss it but Glen needs the fields to dry out so he can get beans planted!!! I'm ready for the pond to warm up so I can go swimming!!! Yay!!!!

Kansas needs to dry out so the wheat can ripen properly. I always think about wheat harvest for the month of June and July. In Oklahoma we usually cut wheat in June, then in July the combines would move to Kansas and up north. I love wheat harvest, it's some of my most favorite memories.

Yes, wheat harvest is pretty neat!! The wheat is starting to turn from green to the golden color and it's so pretty waving in the wind.

We don't have any wheat ourselves. Glen's found that we make more money with the other crops so he hardly ever plants it. My SIL, Nate, does have some wheat though. Since we're in the southern part of Kansas we usually start cutting wheat in June too....usually by July the harvest will be mostly done.
