I've been home since Monday evening but I also came home with a head cold so it's going to be awhile before I give you all of the details. I will say that it was the best vacation we've ever had!!!

I didn't feel well all last week. Some of it was the head cold and some I think was from just being tired after the trip. I didn't do hardly anything......even my suitcases are still laying in the bedroom unpacked. Glen and I haven't done anything with the pictures yet but we will have them together in a few days and I'll get some on here! Everyone's been so excited about his scuba diving pictures that I haven't even looked at what I took......which isn't as exciting as his!!!
I will say that I'm finally feeling so much better......but my blood sugar is really not good. I'm hoping that a little exercise and moving around will help it......if not......then I'm headed to the doctor. Bummer!!!!

How are you feeling now Diana? Your blood sugar levels okay? I've been meaning to call you, just haven't done it yet. Can't wait to hear about your trip and see the pictures.

No.....they aren't any better. I just haven't felt like getting the pictures on here right now. I'm so worried about my BS. It's been over 300 (normal is around 100 to 130)and won't go down. The doctor gave me some meds and they weren't doing anything so I called her office on Friday and she started me on another med. So far it's not working either. I go back in on Thursday. She's talked about insulin and as a diabetic that's not something that you really want to go on until it's a last resort.
I thought that I was just having trouble recently but my A1C was 11.1 (that is a three month average of my blood sugars. It's suppose to be around 7.) That's on the high end of the chart and with numbers that high it's doing damage to my body and organs. I took an over the counter A1C test with Glen in Feb. and it was exactly 7. Since a home test can be unrelieable I took another test after I took the one at the doctor's office to see how it compared and it was high too.......a little higher than the doctor's reading. So I think that something has gone wrong since Feb to make my blood sugar high. I've been on the Atkins diet and have done really well. I know that it helps with my BS but now nothing seems to help. I'm just ready to figure this out. I'm pretty worried about it and Glen's more worried than I am. I hate this getting old!!!!

Hi Everyone, it's good to see you all on 4WT!
Janet, I love the pics of your mom's violets. My grandma could grow violets and I just loved them! Diana, I'm sorry you are not feeling well. You know you have to get that blood sugar under control. It's odd that it started being high so suddenly. Even though it's been high at least 3 months, that's still pretty sudden. Blood sugar usually creeps up pretty slowly. Whatever is the cause, it may reverse. If you have to go on insulin though, it's not the end of the world. It becomes very routine and just a bit of a hassle. At first though, you think it's awful, but it gets easy and routine pretty quickly. My school was out last week but I'm still pretty busy. Like everyone our weather has been pretty crazy this spring. We have been hot then cold then hot then cold. Overall though, it has been a cooler spring so I am grateful for that. I'm going to Oklahoma to see Gary's family this weekend. I think I'll stay will Monday or Tuesday, no need to rush back since classes are over. Gary went into the hospital 1 year ago today and as you know, didn't ever get out. He died on May 24th, so that date is coming up. I have been pretty down today, and I'm thinking this is going to be a hard month. But I'll be very busy this whole month, so I won't have too much time to mope around. I've also been busy planning for our Europe trip. Abigail and I leave for London June 6 - gosh that's a month from today!!! I'm a little nervous, but excited also! I've got lots to do between now and then. It's good to hear from you all!

So sorry you're not feeling your best. If it doesn't get better soon, then maybe a specialist is in order? I don't like thinking you're not well.
Thanks Gayle, the violets are the first ones I've ever had. Mom had two, but one didn't make it. I tried so hard with it, but this one that I posted pics of is thriving. When it stops blooming I need to re-pot to a bigger pot. It seems a bit too big for the one it's in. I'm glad your month is going to be busy, so you won't be able to get too down. Your trip sounds so wonderful and getting ready for that will help keep you busy.
