Actually... my hubby actually spoils me! He likes to do all the cleaning (except for folding the laundry and ironing...which I don't mind doing!) Even if he cooks the dinner, I start to clean up, he tells me to go relax! I am soooo spoiled!! Ok...I am going to duck!!!!! Don't hate me! LOL!

You read my mind. The other day I told my husband (while I was setting up his dinner in front of the TV) that I want to be born a man in my next life. Being a woman is just too darn hard most of the time.

My hubby knew before he married me that I was not the "housewife" kind of woman. He doesn't "expect" me to do anything around the house, and he helps me with everything. Both of us work very hard full-time, although I would consider his job MORE than full-time (80 hours/week). Anyway, I do all the bills and keep the checkbook balanced, but I WANT to do that. He never expects me to cook or clean. If neither of us feels like cooking, then we go out to dinner to have takeout. We both clean the house, but we each have sections that we do. I do the bathroom and bedroom and hubby does the living area and kitchen. He does his own laundry and I do my own laundry. I guess I'm very very lucky. Sometimes he jokes that it is my "job" to do the stuff around the house, but I just remind him that if that is the case, then it's the man's "job" to bring home the bacon. Since we both bring home the bacon, we both will do the "woman" things around the house, too. .

Mine will help, but I have to ask him to do one thing 500 million times before he actually does it. Usually I just give up and do the crap myself.
It's alot quicker that way. |

Seriously, 15 years ago I would have posted similarly to you, but now he doesn't do anything. I'm not sure where I went wrong! Oh, and I guess I'm lucky, he doesn't expect me to do anything. He'd be happy living in a mess and never eating a meal. I just can't wallow in muck. |

Sometimes I just PREFER to do most of the chores around the house. Usually when my hubby does it, it is a half a$$ job or just not done correctly. My philosophy, if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.
