Spring Is Time For Planting/Gardening

I used to plant a really big garden when my kids were home and I canned a lot of it. Since we moved to where we are now the dirt is really tight and has a lot of clay and it's not good garden soil so my garden has to be quite a ways from the house and it's not convenient. With the price of veggies I might have to give in and plant one anyway. Our fresh veggies at the store haven't been very good quality and expensive lately.

What part of Kansas are you from Diana? My hubby's family lives in Wichita. I remember when we were first dating and we'd go visit his sister there. She always had a garden in her backyard. I don't think she has it anymore.

I always thought the soil was better in Kansas. Here where I am at in Arkansas, it's nothing but rocks and red dirt. Can't grow crap!

The only garden I have now is a flower garden in my front yard. We had to bring in nice top soil and stuff being we couldn't use the dirt we had. It too is raised like you talked about.

I can't grow a veggie garden because we have too many rabbits, deer, and other critters who like to munch a bunch.

I really enjoy my flower garden though.
