Do you have any bubble plastic or hay to cover them up with? I know my mom does it with her plants, and flowers. She also uses hessian (cloth)

I stepped outside to go get the kids and I thought, man this isn't so bad, it's warmer than predicted. Then when I got away from the house and felt the wind blow...it was downright cold.

I know I've heard of "dogwood" & "blackberry" winter all my life but was never sure when they were. Anyone know what we are in now? & how many ,if any, more we have to come before spring has finally sprung?
