Anyone heard?
Has anyone heard from Janet today? Her husband was to have surgery today and I have been thinking and wondering how it went? I hope everything's ok
I am sure it has been a long day for her. Lynne |

Here I am!
Just thought I'd let you know that hubby made it through the surgery okay. He lost a lot of blood, but they gave him some to make up for it. He had a piece of bone taken from his hip and used it to help fuse the vertebrae and put in a spacer with two screws. They also got rid of the spurs that were pinching the nerves going down his legs. It took them almost 4 hours. Rick can feel his foot now, where he couldn't before, Dr. said that's a great sign. We got up at 4 a.m. so it's been a long day for me. I was the only one in the waiting room so it seemed like a whole day instead of just half a day. He hasn't had to have any pain meds so far, but was told they would give him some anyway to help him sleep tonight. They've already had him up walking a short distance in the hallway. Dr. said they would keep him two to three days depending on how he's doing. Found out he does not have disability. Only accident with disability so we will not be getting any money from AfLac. When he goes back to work, he will cancel everything else he has with them and find a different insurance. We have enough inheritance money to get us through for 13 weeks, that's a little over 3 months. Hopefully he'll be able to go back to work before it runs out.

His having feeling back is a very good sign! I hope his recovery is quick and total. HUGS

I'm so glad the surgery went well Janet! That's wonderful news!!
I'm sorry that your financial future feels so shaky for the next few months, but at least you have that inheritance. Think of how much more scared you'd be without it... *hugs*

I didn't realize that your husband's surgery was scheduled for yesterday. I'm glad that he came through all right and I hope that today he's not in much pain. Keep us posted on how he's doing.

Hubby got out of surgery about 12:30 PM and they had him walking at 3:30 PM, can you believe it? He's doing really well and may be able to come home today. He's not having much pain at all and no pain in his legs. Just a little in his back. It's 7:30 AM now so I expect him to call sometime early this morning if they decide to release him.

That's really fast for just having had back surgery! I'm glad to hear that he's doing so well. Hopefully his recovery will be just as fast and soon he'll be back to doing what he wants to do.

Dear Janet,
I'm glad hubby is recovering and it's over with. I'm so sorry. I was focusing on your Mom's surgery and forgot that hubby was first. I bet you're both glad that's over with. Judy
