Just make sure that you're tree is small enough that you can carry it AND the decorations down the stairs. Mine's way too big to even think of doing that!

Janet, just have your husband build you a big closet off of one of your rooms and just carry it in there!!!! That would be a whole lot easier than building a basement!!!!!

It would be easier for me just to move...LOL I don't think he'd build anything...it's hard enough getting him to fix something.

I know the feeling. We've lived here for 8 years and I still have just plain ol' dirt for a back yard and my steps are wooden pallets stacked up. I don't think that I'll ever get a patio but I'm trying not to complain because I DID get my house!

Isn't it funny!?! I never thought we'd end up with "honey-do" lists like the wives in sit-coms. Sometimes life is like a Dagwood & Blondie comic strip - lol!

What makes things like the "honey do" list so funny in sit coms is that they DO exist!
In spite of our best intentions, if we don't ask for help and write a list, most of us would never get anything that needs a mans touch done.

Christmas tree fire... quite startling to watch

In under 45 seconds this room is toast. Can you imagine if someone were in there?
Now I'm really glad I got my fake tree ordered.

Amen! LOL! My hubby is the worst in the world for "forgetting" what he's supposed to do. If he has a list, he'll do every single thing I ask him to...

My guys sit at their computers in another room from mine so I can work. When I really need something done, I send an email through the internet to go just across the house! lol

Tink,

That tree is a beauty. Do you have to put it together, or just throw a bag over it after the holiday and put it near one of the kid's beds? (That might help get them out).

We got our first artificial tree the year that dh brought it in, fought to get it set up. Stood back to admire his work.

And watched our schnauzer, walk over to it, sniff it, and.....lift his leg.

"Thanks for bringing the bathroom in!"

We have a walk up attic. Our trees (we have several now) all get carried upstairs and left with lights on til the next year. No more struggling with lights.

I think you'll like it.

Oh, and another plus, no more battles to keep the critters from drinking the tree water
