Husbands Aunt Passed Away

My husbands aunt passed away on Thursday. She had the most infectious laugh of anyone I ever met. She was 78 years young and is the sister of my father-in-law who passed a couple years ago. When she and her younger sister got together it was a cacklefest for sure. You couldn't help but laugh right along with them.

The visitation will be today and although it will be a sad time, it will be nice to see family we haven't seen for quite some time. She has a son and his family from out of state that of course will be here. I wish we could have mandatory reunions every two years at least so we can all stay close as we were when we were younger.

It was mentioned to me the other day that it is now my generation that will be passing. I hadn't thought if it that way and to tell ya the truth..I wish this person would have kept their mouth shut. But...time does go on and everyone and everything will pass.

What a nice way to tell about this special person in your life, by remembering her laughter.

I'm sorry for your family's loss. Hugs to you, and don't let the comments of others (about your generation) get you down. Best to ignore it.

Janet, I'm sorry for your loss.
What a wonderful legacy to be remembered for your laugh! Sounds like she will be a welcome addition at the pearly gates.

HUGS

So sorry about your loss. It is wonderful to have fond memories of the people we love to look back on and enjoy. My aunt who passed recently had a wonderful laugh. It's strange the sweet things we remember.

Don't worry about our generation's passing. Hopefully we have a lot of living to do if God sees fit to let the world last.

My husbands side of the family was so large and lively. Never a dull moment. Everyone at the funeral home was in full spirit too. The stories, the laughter...you could almost hear Dorothy laughing with us.

What a sweet way to remember your aunt! And I'm sure that the lively get-together at the funeral home was a special memory too. My mother's sister's are always laughing when they get together and yes, a couple of them cackle too!!! I always feel better after I've been around them. I hope that people remember me for my laughter, sense of humor, and loving the Lord!!!!

So sorry for your loss Janet. My Uncle Walt always made you feel better when you talked to him and was always fun. Maybe they have met and are laughing together in heaven.

I dread the day I have to help my husband through death. He comes from a small family and has never had to attend a funeral.
Death is never easy for anyone, but he never even experienced the loss of a pet until our male sugar glider passed away December 27th. He was visibly upset as he took in the finality of it, but he was my rock then....

I hope you and your husband are feeling better Janet, remember her laugh and share stories of her often
I always picture my grandmothers hands and what security I felt when they were near.

Hi Janet, I just read this post and am sorry to hear about your aunt. What wonderful memories you have of her, hold them close to your heart. It is sad as the older generation passes on and take all their wonderful traditions, jokes, humor and all the good stuff they were all about..

Thank you Gina...you're so sweet as are all of you. Aunt Dorothy will be missed, but her sweetness and her laughter will always be in our memories of her.
