I'm with Diana on this one. Stress can do so many harmful things to our mind and body. I'd at least check with a counselor and see what they say. Don't let yourself get too thin and make yourself sick...we need you here.

I'm sorry you're going through a stressful time!
Not something I usually talk about, but when I was a freshman in high school I had eating issues. I made myself throw up. I found out later that it was for the reason you described, it was the one thing I could control. It made a lot of sense to me. I think that's exactly what is going on with you. Stress really goes that way or the other though. People either don't eat for the control reasons, or they eat more because it comforts them. Food is instant gratification, especially sweet food. It's like people that drink. It makes them feel better in the moment because they feel so cruddy, but it doesn't solve the overall problem at all. But you could have some type of depression as well that might be the reason. Depression causes you to lose interest in things, and that includes food. I would maybe check into that as well. I hope things get better for you! |

I stopped eating. For almost three years, I ate one piece of bread a day. I stopped this because i got pg with my oldest son. I hid this from everyone and still thought I was fat. I DID do it for the weight issue. I still struggle with remembering to eat and feeling fat. Even more so now because I am no longer 97lbs. I now weigh around 130 and I hate it but my hubby thinks I look good and that at 97lbs I looked terrible. That does help alittle. I do think you should talk to a counselor. They have many ways of coping with issues that i would have never thought of. Good luck and take care.

Kathy,
You have been through a very hard year. Have you thought about a bereavement group? One to one therapy is also great. I've been seeing the same therapist for years now, and I love it. There are times I have nothing to talk about, so I cut back to once a month, but I highly recommend it. Losing that much weight is not healthy, and if you get sick, who will be spoiling your dogs! And who will be our Kathy? Please try it at least.
