mother in law coming over !!!

As most of you know, My husbands family boycotted Micah's first birthday party, now my husband just called to tell me that his mother is coming over tonight. This woman hasn't seen Micah since the beginning of March and to tell you the truth i don't even want to see her, since she didn't have the balls to come to my son's first Birthday party, I just can't stand her after that, i just don't know how to handle tonight, i really don't even want to look at her, i might say something that i'm going to regret.. I liked it much better when she stayed away. and now why the change of heart? She didn't even have the balls to call me when all this other crap was going on she acted like a 2 year old... Just don't know what to do tonight. Feel like telling her off, but that wouldn't be right... maybe i'll just go on my computer until she leaves.

I agree with Teri. I work so hard to get along with my MIL, but she is so mean to me. She'll do something heartless, then think she can call to apologize, writing it off to her age or something. She's even gone so far as to re-arrange my kitchen drawers and cabinets, tell me she doesn't like a gift, walk on my still wet mopped floor on purpose, along with dozens of other things. Every visit, I go crazy biting my tongue and staying clear of her. She treats my hubby almost as badly, but he ignores her just like her husband did.

Be kind and you won't regret it! Everything's better with a glass of wine!

I agree with the others. But I am still lost. how could a grandmother 'boycott" her grandchild's first birthday? reguardless, her loss! She will regret it. That's something she can never get back.

I don't get along the best with my MIL either, but for my husband's sake I try to make the best of it. He's really great with my Mom so I try to get along with his Mom.

I think Teri's advice is good. My MIL has never been crazy about me but she is civil. Probably because my husband is my staunch defender and she knows it.

i like Janets idea the best he he, but thanks ladies, i just went into my office and tried to download pictures while she was there, i am so lost on how to do that..
But she only stayed for an hour Thank God, and took a bunch of pictures of Micah like she always does, she sends them to her relitives and says what a wonderful Grandmother she is.. ya right she hasn't see the kid since March.. oh well i got thru it .... thanks ladies !!
