I've taught classes of about 20 kids, and couldn't give them all what they needed.
Of course, it wasn't a constant thing, like a family situation, where you might have more time for each.

I did rely on the brighter ones to help the average students. The slower kids got more time, but not enough. Not only that, but the squeaky wheel gets the grease. If some of their children are developing well, and have no big issues, they won't get as much attention as those with difficulties.
