What A Night!
Last night I went to bed tired and was looking forward to a good nights sleep. When around 1ish I am still up and hear my daughter talking to Gucci. I got up and asked her what was the matter. Gucci sleeps in her room and she was up and didn't want to sleep and kept panting this was making my daughter nervous. So finally after 2 hrs she takes her downstairs in the family room where its cooler to sleep. Yes it was hot last night but my daughter had her ceiling fan on. I couldn't sleep either kept getting up to go to the bathroom and checking on Gucci.
I called the dog hospital they are opened 24 hrs and spoke to a tech. she said it didnt sound like anything to worry about. In between not sleepin I got an anxiety attack where my heart races and every nerve in my body pulsates, do any of you ladies ever experience anxiety attacks?. Well I got one hr. of sleep and today I feel like crap. Any suggestions if you do get them at night on how to handle the anxiety ? |

I have had really bad anxiety attacks and I take medication for it. I've tried to get off of the meds but the anxiety is still there. I'm just thankful for the meds.
I got so bad one day that I had pains going down my left arm and I thought that I was having a heart attack. My blood pressure went sky-high and I was in the hospital for 3 days. |

I've not had anxiety attacks Gina, so I'm sorry I can't help you. Maybe talk to your Dr. about some meds like Diana.

You sound like me. The more I can't sleep the more I worry about the fact that I can't sleep which continues to keep me awake. it usually starts by me worring about something, but then I can't stop my brain. My doctor perscribed me xanax. It helps; I only take half a pill when I absolutely have too. It sounds like something has you worried because frequent urination is a sign of anxiety. I recently started seeing a therapist because I was worring so bad about something that I wouldn't sleep or eat for weeks at a time. Some things I've read also say to stop trying to go to sleep & get up and do somethng & that you'll go to sleep when you're tired.

You could probably get some meds to take just when you're having trouble or maybe try a Tylenol PM. If you only take one then you don't wake up so groggy the next morning. See if that works first before getting a prescription.
I take an old prescription drug called Trazodone. It's on the list at Wal-mart to get really cheap. I tried Xanax but it's addictive and I wasn't comfortable with it. I also tried Zoloft. It worked great but I had other side-effects that I wasn't happy with. I've been on the Trazodone for several years and I haven't had any trouble with it. I hope that you find something to help. Anxiety problems are not any fun. |

Oh, Gina, so sorry you had a bad night. We should have gotten the chat room together. I usually sleep through the night, no problem, but last night, I couldn't get Melissa's wedding out of my mind and all that needs to be done. I'm at work today, ready for 5:00 so I can hurry home and get to work. I tossed and turned all night. Don't know how much sleep I got.
Only had one anxiety attack, at least that's what they think it was. It happened last year and they thought I'd had a heart attack. Had all kinds of tests, even one that is experimental and not covered by insurance, and they say I'm very healthy, must have just been an anxiety attack. I feel for anyone who has a problem with these. It was not fun at all!!! Hope tonight is better for you!!!

Gina I hope you and Gucci feel better and get some rest.
Marilyn I remember all the worries about the last details of the wedding and trying to make sure everything was done. No matter how much you try something will come up that you didn't expect. It will all turn out beautiful anyway. When Angela got married everything was going wrong the day before the wedding. I know we want their day to be absolutely beautiful and special which I am sure it will be. Someone told us "the wedding day is not what is the most important it is the life after the wedding." Very wise words when we were so stressed. It won't be long till you are telling us how fantastic it was. And of course showing us beautiful pictures!!!

I've only had the beginning of an anxiety attack when they tried to put me in a closed MRI machine. I feel for you. It took less than a minute for them to get me out and 2 hours for the adrenalin to settle down.
I would think about medication. What an awful feeling. Glad Gucci is okay.
