Wedding is Almost Here!!!!!

Well, the wedding is almost here. My baby is getting married on Saturday. This is a really special time. It's hard to define the feelings. Sadness at knowing that she's not just ours anymore. She will be someone's wife. Happiness for her, of course!! Nervousness. Fear that we've forgotten something, some wedding detail. She's marrying a wonderful young man and we know she will have a good life, but we also know that she will have to learn compromise. Those big dreams of traveling the world may not happen. Her desire to live on the coast may not happen. He's a good Christian, as is she, so they share a lot of really good things. There will be some adjusting to how they do things vs how we do things. We've raised her to be an independent woman and his family views women a little differently. I think her views are actually part of what drew him to her. She's an original.

I will probably disappear from her on Wednesday. That's when I'm headed to stay with Melissa. Hubby will be coming a little later.

Keep us and our families in your prayers, please. It will be nice to get back to normal and catch up on everything when we get back.

I know you're looking forward to all the festivities, but also looking forward to life getting back to normal. I know I'll keep you in my prayers that everything will go off as planned and if it can't go as planned...that it will be even better than you all had hoped for.

Tell Melissa I wish her the very best life has to offer and when some time passes and she's an ole married lady..to come back and share with us.

awww, best wishes for a wonderful wedding! Just remind her that she needs to just be happy and enjoy the day. Even if things go wrong, it won't ruin her special day if she doesn't let it! (Some day after her wedding I'll tell you about all of the things that went wrong on my day! But it was still the happiest day of my life!)

Thank you for your kind comments. I've had a strange kind of cold for the last couple of weeks, just really beginning to get over it. I'm so upset. Hubby is getting the very beginning stages of it. I felt bad the 2nd and 3rd day then started feeling much better then it turned into sinus. I'm hoping that by Saturday he will be past the worst part. I feel so bad for him. I tried to stay away and spray Lysol around when I thought I was contageous.

Marilyn,

My prayers for you and Melissa, and all of the family for a wonderful, joyous wedding day. It's a beautiful thing to make a wedding, and when you sit there and watch your daughter, as the bride, it's amazing, and so spiritual.

You will miss being her Mommy, but after some time, you get through it. When the grandchildren come, God willing, there's no way to really describe the feelings.

Have a wonderful wedding. Congratulations! Please tell Melissa congratulations too.

Judy

Aww Marilyn, what a happy (and stressful!) time for you! I understand how you would be feeling such a wide range of emotions and it will take some time to get used to the new situation, but as far as I can tell you raised a wonderful daughter and she will do just fine. You may even be closer after the wedding because the two of you will have a lot more in common then.

Tell Lissa that I've been thinking of her and I hope she has tons of fun on her wedding day! Congrats!

Marilyn, you know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and that everything will turn out just beautifully. You've planned and planned and I'm sure that everything will be in order for Lissa's special day. Make sure that you relax during the ceremony so you're able to enjoy visiting with everyone and enjoy the rest of the day.
