Oh, I'm so glad I am helping to make you feel better And I too think the world of you - for some reason, I have just "clicked" with you - and I'm ever so grateful for your love and friendship If your pills are wearing off at 2 hours, take a couple of tylenol. Also, call the idiot dentist back tomorrow and ask if he can prescribe you some Mepergan - it's got morphine in it (not much but it IS a stronger pain pill than the percocets). That's what the docs here put Sam on after his accident last year and he LOVED it. And if he won't (or can't prescribe that to you), call your regular doc, explain what happened, and see if he/she can call you some in. And if that doesn't work, I'll come right on out to Salt Lake and see if I can't convince that dentist. A sister hospital is in Salt Lake so I might can convince corporate to fly me out there on the pretence of business... But seriously, call first thing in the morning and ask about getting some Mepergan. If they ask how you know about that drug, tell them someone smatter than him told you about it

Sure hope you're much better tomorrow. I saw on another post where someone suggested warm salt water. I forgot all about that when I had my wisdom teeth pulled. That worked great. You just have to make sure you do it 3,4,5 times a day. I also had some pain pill, but didn't need it.

Long ago I had impacted wisdom teeth pulled, so I know your pain! On the plus side, I lost a lot of weight... on the down side, I was 5'7" and only about 110 lbs at 17!!
My question is... why in the heck was he pulling the tooth to begin with? It should only be done as a last resort because your other teeth will shift and then you'll have some serious dental problems! Now you'll need some kind of bridge or something to keep the other teeth from shifting out of place. What a PITA! I'm going to the dentist in the morning for a cracked tooth, and they are putting a crown on it. It will be my second crown. Funny story.... I hate, hate, HATE to go to the dentist so much (I make him give me some Valium) that when I was a kid they had to knock me out to get into my mouth! So.. one time I was telling a girlfriend about it. She was a very prim and proper Southern gentlewoman, and in her slow Southern drawl she says "Why Sherry Lynn, you should just do what I do. When he puts that little napkin around my neck and lowers that chair... I reach over and grab his testicles... look him in the eye... and say 'Now we aren't going to hurt each other, are we?'... I've neeeevvvver had a problem!" I laughed so hard that everytime I think of going to the dentist, I always think of her! I can still hear her deep drawl. It was such a shock to hear her say something so naughty! Hope you feel better soon... |
