Ok, in the above post I complained about my hubby being on the computer. It's really been a clashing of wills about getting on!!! He's been on all day long for the last several days. I'm able to finally get on when he gets a phone call and I push him away from it!!! Or when he goes to get something to eat!!! I think that we're going to get me a computer for my birthday!! Yay!!! But we'll see if he really does it!!!

Anyway, on Friday mornings he ALWAYS goes to town and eats breakfast with his buddies and this morning when he came home he had a surprise for me!!! A single red rose in a vase!!!! Isn't that sweet? I think that he's sucking up for taking over the computer!!!!!

Diana, I think you're right. Which is why I decided to just back away.

It is currently -25 windchill, so I'm glad the dogs are in and safe. They're really enjoying all the attention and heat so it should be interesting to see how/if we get to sleep. lol

Greg is home which really helps as Canada adores him, so she is willing to split her time between us instead of pushing up to me full time. She's not piddled in the house at all... actually went when we took her out which was a great surprise. The pup on the other hand is being hard on my paper towel supply.

Diana it will be great if you can have your own computer. All three of us here have our own. The boys have laptops and mine is a desk top. I personally like typing on a regular keyboard, so if I EVER got a laptop, I'd have to buy a keyboard to go with it...lol. Picky aren't I?

No, I don't think that you're picky at all. My girls have laptops and I agree with you on the keyboard. I don't like typing or getting around on a laptop. I really hope that my husband goes ahead and gets it. Sometimes he says things but doesn't follow through with them.

Tink, I hope that you're staying all nice and warm! That's pretty cold especially with the wind blowing!!!!!

I am just amazed... have to brag on her a bit. So please bear with me. LOL

Canada let us sleep until 5:30 this morning undisturbed. Then she woke us crying and a bit frantic so we took the dogs outside. She hadn't relieved herself in the house at all and went as soon as she got outside. For a 5 yr old "outside" dog I thought this was pretty fantastic. She obviously appreciates being inside and is trying very hard to not give us any reason to rush to put her back out. LOL

I'm seriously thinking if she continues like this she will have earned her place as a "house dog". I'd love to have her inside other than when she has puppies to care for. I hate the idea of her being lonely outside when all she really wants is to be loved and doted on.

That is the way a couple of our labs were. They were outside dogs, but when it was really cold we'd bring them in and they never 'went' in the house. That's when we decided to not have any more outside dogs. They all want as much attention as possible and I just can't imagine being so lonely every evening and all night long. So I have four Yorkies and a 93 lb Golden Retriever all in the house...LOL

I was supposed to have sold my final pup this morning, to a couple in the upper peninsula of Michigan. They had gotten on the road, got nearly half way here and the heater went out in their vehicle so they had to turn back. It's -22 wind chill here right now, so I can't say I blame them for not wanting to tough out another 6 hrs on the road with 2 small children.

Thank God the pup is safe here with me, they're safe at home and we will hopefully be able to reconnect another day.

Greg's left again for the week, but Joel and Shannon are here, and Katie and Josh called to ask if they could come watch the big playoff game here today. So it looks like I will have plenty of company to help occupy the dogs. lol

How was the weekend with all that company? It sounds like fun.

I'm glad your little guy is safely home and warm!

Gracie Leigh is fretting!

My positive is that I've decided I've had enough of her not being trained. She's now leashed to a chair next to me - actually, she's sleeping on her pee pad.

Her training went astray. I think it was all the visits to my daughter. She has 4 dogs, 2 not trained yet, mine were confined becaquse4 the pups are large and might have hurt mine and so on.

She should be trained in a couple of weeks. She knows where to go, and she's very bright. She learned "sit" in 2 days. Max is quite territorial about the pee pads, so the Big Boss is taking over! I don't remember him taking out his charge card to pay for those pads!

Well I got GREAT news today so HAVE to share!

I went for my recheck today and my Dr was so happy with my blood pressure etc that she gave me a literal thumbs up and said I won't need to start the zombie med after all. She was vry glad to hear I'd taken action and dh stood beside me. She said I looked greatly improved today and should just keep doing what I've been doing because it obviously agrees with me

Good luck with the training Judy.
I think it's almost easier to train them when they are a bit older... I can't believe how well Canada has done... and she's 5!

Tink - what good news! I'm so glad that you have it under control.

Getting the kids out on their own probably had a lot to do with it. They'll be better for it - more independent and proud of themselves, you love the freedom, and your blood pressure went down right away, and your sweet husband can enjoy having you to himself.

It's all good.
