Well, Bren's dad decided not to go see the DA today. His pastor told him not to do anything irreversible until they talked. I'm really frustrated. Just because he's the pastor doesn't mean his church members need his permission or approval to make decisions. Being a pastor doesn't mean you know all the answers.

Hopefully he'll change his mind and do something about this situation soon...

Sorry for my rant...

I'm sorry for your frustration Angie. This is such a difficult situation you are all in. Hopefully in time your FIL will get all the answers he's looking for. I am sure he notices all the support family and friends are giving him. That's important.

Well I'd be telling the pastor that unless he's capable of bringing back Dad if she does kill him, that he'd better go babysit the woman to make sure she doesn't try anything else then.

I'm sorry... I SO don't agree with that choice. I can only imagine how hard this has to be on you all.

Thanks Tink, Mandy, and Sheryl! It's just so frustrating because it takes Bren and me so long and so much effort to convince him that he CAN make it on his own and that he and his son don't deserve this kind of treatment, and then for someone who doesn't even slightly understand the situation to go and ruin that when we finally seemed to get through to him just really got to me today. Because Bren's Step-MIL is so controlling, my FIL has no money (no access to his checks or their bank account), no driver's license to be able to get anywhere or do anything, and he has to account for what he does practically every second of every day. The first step in this process will be the hardest and scariest for him since he feels like he has no options... I just hope we can provide him with enough encouragement and support to make the right choice.

Angie, I just read this thread. I had no idea it would be what it is. How horrible that you and your family are going through all of this. I agree with you and all the ladies here. He needs to talk to the DA & perhaps you and Brendon need to talk to his pastor. Hopefully this will all happen soon, and hopefully you have enough evidence to make something positive happen. You are in my prayers.

I totally agree with you Tink! Angie, perhaps you and Brendon should go talk with
the pastor, try to get him to understand the truth, and maybe he can help you influence your FIL.

If not, he's lucky I'm not going to see him! What nonsense.

In the end, you two are doing all you can. You have to wait for his Dad to make up his mind, which can be so hard on the people watching.

Hugs and Prayers to all of you,

Judy

WOW I'm just shocked!! I agree witht the other ladies here...go talk to his Pastor. Maybe IF he did know the situation he wouldn't have talked him out of it. It truely sounds like your FIL has no freedom. I'm worried that something is going to happen to him.

It's a sad situation, but the statistics show that there are more murders and suicides during holidays. Please keep an eye on him.

Thanks for asking Janet. He is doing alright as far as the physical problems, but has not left his wife yet unfortunately. Hopefully after Christmas...

That's a good idea. Holiday time is no time to start up such a thing. Your family has had quite a year and you should all just relax and enjoy being together for the holidays.

I hope that your father-in-law moves out after Christmas because she'll probably try it again, especially if she doesn't know that anyone suspects her of trying to poison him. It just worries me that he's still within her reach!

I know no one has to say, but I'll do it anyway...just stay close with eyes and ears open.
