My Mom's gone!
My Mom crashed on Sunday morning. She was on life support for about 60 hours and we let her go. We had a little country funeral and burial for her today. I am totally exhausted. It was good to see many relatives and friends, but I just want to crawl under my covers and be alone. I need to spend time with my doggies.
The docs just couldn't get control of the infection from the gallbladder surgery. She had about three good days, but it was too much for her. I was scheduled for the foot surgery tomorrow, but cancelled all that until I get my land legs back. I hope you're all well and I'll try to get caught up on everything tomorrow.

THANK YOU ALL for your prayers and thoughts. I'm actually doing OK, just tired. One of the worst things for me is that I've had to sign both my parents off life support and I can't seem to lose that guilt. I keep telling myself that medicine had done all it could and that I had to sign the papers so that medicine could turn it over to God.
My sister turned out to be a "butt head", so I had to do some walking away from a few things. I never would have thought that she'd do some of the things she's doing. But, we gave her remains a very nice send off. My son had just left on Saturday, so I had to tell him while he was in transit back to Iraq. He wanted to come back, but I told him not to. He sent an e-mail that a couple of my Mom's g-kids got up and read. The funeral was at the church I grew up in, where 5 generations of my family are members.

Sandy sounds like you did the very best you could have possibly done. You mother would be proud of you and how you handled everything I'm sure. Siblings can be a real surprise in situations like this. It's so sad that we can't just all get along. Take care of yourself and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
