Storms Again
We are under a tornado warning again. Really getting a little tired of it all. Guess there have been touchdowns in counties just south of us.

The people down south...Alabama, Mississippi, and others need our prayers. I can't imagine going through all that.

I know what you mean Janet! We were also under a tornado warning but thank goodness it went around us! I feel so bad for those who got the really bad storms! This weather is just so scary! I heard it was unlike anything ever before on record!

It is awful! Those poor people!
We have flood warnings, and T storm warnings. Is it Spring now? I have no idea what season we are in, weather wise.

The storms in the east/southeast were just horrid. I can't say that I can't imagine what it was like, because I can. Although I have not lost a home to a tornado, I have seen many many tornadoes, living in Oklahoma and Gary's son's home was hit twice. His home was left standing but severely damaged, while homes around his were flattened. It was eerie. Several years ago, a tornado tore a huge swath through Oklahoma City and it was just horrible, simply unbelievable. There was not nearly the death toll as there was in AL, I'm not sure why, maybe because so many people in OK have storm cellars AND THEY USE THEM. My sil was caught out in the tornado I mentioned above and she had to run into a gas station and get into the grocery freezer. It was very very bad.

I had a cousin that was living in Moore, Ok, when that one hit. It missed her by a couple of blocks or so. She was so scared she called her Mom to tell her good-bye and that she loved her. She had just moved there and had no idea where to go for safety. I can't imagine getting a phone call like that!!!
I feel so sorry for the people that were hit. I know that Kansas is known for their tornados but we don't seem to have very many in the area where I live. Wichita was hit really bad a few years ago and of course, Greensburg. East of us in Missouri and Arkansas and south in Oklahoma seems to get hit much worse than we do. The stories of how little time people had to get to safety are just amazing!! I think that's why so many people died is because there just was not enough time to get to safety. So sad. |

DIANA! MOORE, YES! That is where Gary's son lives and his house has been hit twice. Gary's aunt and uncle that we travel with and that Gary was fishing with last month had a home in the same addition as Gary's son. They sold the house a year before the whole addition was destroyed by that Moore, OK tornado. Their former house was nothing but sticks. It was just horrible. We were up there just a few days after it happened. It looked like bombs exploded every block. Terrible.

The news keeps showing the devastation and telling how the death toll is now over 300. The pictures they are showing are so horrible...'sticks' everywhere. The sadness and worry in the people's faces. My heart goes out to them.
