My weed

Gary and Brooke kept telling me this was a weed that came up in my garden. I just knew it wasn't. Here's what my "weed" looked like when we got home from Houston today.

Summer IS HERE IN TEXAS! It was 97 today. It's not supposed to be nearly as hot the rest of the week though, thank goodness!

I have one i sell to you cheap lol!!! The one we have is right next to where we park and during the summer it drips sap on the cars, I wouldn't mind it if it wasn't for that. When they get ready to cut the trees across the road for the highway hubby is going to see if they will cut it also. They may not since it is close to wires.

Oh OH! At our other house we had a tree that dripped sap on our cars too - but it got old and we had it cut down. Someone told me it's not tree sap but aphid droppings that gets on the car. If you can control the aphids, no more sap. I don't know how to control aphids on a tree!

I have to admit that I am afraid of sunflowers! They are so tall, and I always expect them to bite me.

What a beautiful weed!!! I'm so glad that you didn't get rid of it!!! Kansas is the sunflower state but it's not based on the large ones like that. We have loads of the smaller wild kind that are all along the road ways in the summer......they're so pretty even if they are truly weeds!!!
