Stiff Neck

Woke up this morning with a bad stiff neck...have any tips to make it go away? It's a good one if there is such a thing.

Try wet heat, and some advil. I hope it goes away before lunch!

If you lie down, put a rolled towel under your neck. It relieves the stress on those muscles.

Thanks Judy, I ended up putting a warm wet towel around my neck. It did help some, but not completely. I'm in bed again and took some tylenol so hopefully it will be gone tomorrow.

If you can take Advil, it is better for things like stiff neck because it has anti-inflammatory properties, whereas Tylenol is just a pain reliever with no anti-imflammatory action.

I bet it will be gone tomorrow. It was probably caused by tension and stress as I remember you mentioned this was a stressful week.

My stiff neck is pretty much gone...yay. Dont think I was too stressed this week....I've had worse...lol. I do think I slept with my pillows doubled and my neck was in an odd position.

I have a chiroflow pillow, which has water in a pouch under the pillow. It is heaven! My old chiropractor told me about it. You have to change the water every 6 months or so, and that's it. I also use a beanie thing under my neck when I watch TV or read. It can be microwaved too. I have something wrong in my neck, so I need these, but I would use them anyway. They are so comfy!

I'm glad your neck feels better!

Glad your neck is better. Mine's still bad, even after the boob job. Its time to go for another injection. I'll tough it out until after the baby girl comes.

I'm sorry you are having neck problems. Gary is too. He had an injection in March that took away ALL the pain. Then they decided he should go to physical therapy and the pain came back with a vengence. So he had another injection the end of May and he is pain free now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that nothing else flares it up!

I've had two injections and they def help, but not totally. Then, they suggested the reduction. Mine probably stemmed from a car accident 20 years ago. When mine's bad, it affects my ear.

Gary's pain goes down his arm and when it flares up badly, the nerve from the neck affects his arm and hand strength. Sometimes he feels like he can't even hold a glass of water. But I don't think he is very bad because the injections completely stop the pain and weakness.

Wow....and I was complaining of just a stiff neck. I do have to say my problem is so minor compared to you Sandy and to Gary. My neck feels much better, but today...I cleaned out two closets and got rid of a bunch of stuff...and now I'm so sore. Knees, back, arms...lol....I think it would help if I would wear shoes when I'm working/cleaning instead of barefoot. I'll probably be real sore tomorrow.

Glad there are injections or something that help Gary and Sandy. I just need a good couple of beers...LOLOL.
